This was one of the series with zero expectations to ever like because of the title and the plot seemed iffy. But boy I was wrong. I did not expect to actually like but also felt attach to it. It was both a feel good and bittersweet. Don't mind the scores. But if you're looking for spice or intrigue or angst, please scroll down. Don't rate and and just move on.
I liked it at the start because it felt cute. A nice diversion from the heavy BL dramas that have been churned out lately. Then came the twist. I really hated it and it was hard to root for the male lead after that.
People waited for years for this adaptation because FINALLY!!! ... and then, THAT WAS IT?!?!? PLEASE STOP ADAPTING BL WORKS IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF NEING HONEST TO THE MATERIALS, ESPECIALLY BL. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF STRAIGHT LITERARY WORKS. JUST DO THEM.
Coming in, I was adamant to watch it for having 16 episodes and reading that it had a very thin and simple plot, but after watching it, it ended as one of my favorite feel good series of all time. I get why people don't like it becase they think that if it does not involved mature themes, toxic relationships, or depressing storylines, then it is boring. Regardless of what they say, I will probably watch it after a few months or years if I feel I need some fluff and slice-of-life bl.
Wasn't the whole premise is like she looked like Sadako, looked bit scary and socially awkward, just like in the anime and movie. Here she looks just like a girl with bangs.
Why would you marry a stranger jsut to get over your feelings towards the wife of your brother?!?! What in the actual f***?!?!?! This is soo messed. I just can't wrap my head around the whole plot.
The Japanese adaptation was one of my fave BLs during the pandemic era. But after viewing it around last year, it felt like something shifted. Before I found it cute, but later, I felt like it lacked romance. I realized there wasn't any kissing scene between the male leads, unless you count that forehead kiss. Meanwhile, the Thai version had TayNew so I knew that there'd be chemistry. But I feel like New still needs to improve on his acting. Plus, I wish they could have held the reveal and the conflict later. Plus, when Tay said he liked New, but felt underwhelming. Like just like that? But I'd pick this over the Japanese version purely for romance alone. On my second viewing of the Japanese version, I just felt a bit iffy, like a Kurosawa was like a pervert while Adashi felt bromance. While in TayNew, you could feel the romance and the chemistry. Plus, we got to learn more about the characters and not felt like a caricature.
People are like liking Guy when he's the absolute worst. He liked backstabbed his friends because of his jealousy, made a competing business against their friends bakery which he first put up with them, had some desserts that are almost like his friends', then manipulated the ultra naive Peach, and on the last episode came back just like that? Yup, Shin may have shitty behaviour but he has always been like that. Like whay did they expect? And he was honest about what and he he feels from the start.
