I did... I also didn't like how Captain Yoo's homophobia was simply brushed over. Like he threatened Han Yang…
You're absolutely right. It really annoyed at times when they used Han Yang as the punchline- whether it was his sexuality or his mental wellbeing. I mean come on, calling a person 'looney' because their behaviour is perceived as unusual is a little too insensitive. I couldn't agree more with how unusual it was that the only LGBTQ+ character got a bad ending, when other characters who were problematic (i.e. stabbing Je Hyuk's shoulder and causing him to be unable to throw a baseball with that arm) got a redemption arc and had a somewhat decent ending. I think the writer definitely butchered his story. I get that the writer was trying to convey that drug addiction is very hard to overcome, but I don't think Han Yang's ending was necessary. We already saw how tough it was for him during his prison sentence and we saw his massive growth throughout the series. For that character development to competely be flushed down the drain in his last appearance was very frustrating. I've got to say this series was disappointing with Han Yang's story. It's quite rare to see LGBTQ+ representation within Kdramas, so to finally see one, but their existence was used solely for comedic relief because of their sexuality was very disappointing.
I just recently finished watching this drama and was wondering if anyone felt like Yoo Han Yang’s story in the…
I did... I also didn't like how Captain Yoo's homophobia was simply brushed over. Like he threatened Han Yang (if I remember correctly he said he would beat up his best mates if he found out they were gay) and the next scene quickly moves back to his comedic fights with Han Yang, without touching on how problematic and hurtful his attitude was. I would've had closure if Captain Yoo at least had some form of character development regarding his homophobic behaviour and reflects on what he said towards the end... but that never took place. I also think his character was glorified. What I took from the show was that yes, he is homophobic but that's okay because he is also a rightous character with decent morals. Because although he was threatening to Han Yang, the show still gave him touching scenes where he is potrayed as a 'good' character, and even herioc in some.
My fave k-rock band Lacuna had a cameo in ep 5... they were the band playing in the festival. I urge everyone to check them out, theyre highly underated but so damn talented! They have less than 15,000 streams on their most popular song on spotify. I recommend their song Dancing in the Rain to anyone who likes soft rock music! Please give them some love
so the queen keeps saying "win during the day and fade at night" about the king. does anyone know what that means, it kepes bothering me because I don't know what they mean...
Yeah, i totally agree with you, after episode 6 i believe she already knows about her husband's cheating and also…
Right!? People are dropping this drama because they think its dragging on but omg I'm still so invested in all the drama that happens around the mystery. Like, I can't wait for the next ep!
After ep6 I highly believe Yeo Joo already knows about her husband cheating. They were quite a few clues that point to it. I think Yeo Joo is like a cat playing with its mouse before the cat kills it, and she does this by feigning ignorance. Also I think because she knows hes been cheating, she's also trying to ruin his political career first before putting the frosting on the cake and properly end him for cheating. Which was why she told him to not be involved in politics.
bcvjksdb I'm simping for Nim Kam Hee. From a Japanese colonialist from Mr Sunshine, a 2 faced cheating player in Search: WWW (both which I absolutely hated) to a lovable, bad ass, heroic Christian who's skilled in sword fighting.
I hope he gets more acting projects soon! I'm rooting for him.
[ep6]ummm wtf happened to this show? How the f did the woman fire fighter leave with all the monsters running…
bjsinvfjkj exactly what i thought! And then with the other characters, one or two steps outside of the building meant immediate death for them like in ep1. Smh talking about a convenient plot cause it's the main character.
I haven't read the webtoon, but I believe that at the ending scene, that special infectee who was supposedly killed…
Yeah. I actually kind of loved it. I know he was one of the antigonists but I really liked the other special infectee's character. He had good intentions at first when he volunteered as a subject, but then the military took advantage of him and he went berserk from the torture he endured. I was sad for Sang Wook too, but I was also ecstatic that its not the end for Jeong Eui Myeong!
Me too, the drama was different from the webtoon but I'm still excited to see how it would unravel.
does she have ghost writers? mr. sunshine seems like it was written by a completely different person - don't think…
exactly what I thought... all her works seem very merdiocre, apart from Mr Sunshine. When I watched Mr Sunshine, I kept doubting that she was the writer throughout it...
HAHA I lose it everytime the husband shows his 'oh sht does my wife know' face. Cannot wait till that scum finally gets caught by Yeo Joo and piss his pants.
Just to clarify what I mean by this is that the whole amnesia thing just lost it for me...typical cliche ..not…
Respect your opinion, but I do agree with @Tothebeautifulme about how the amnesia plotline was unnecessary. I don't think anyone's disrespecting the screenwriter, but rather expressing our contructive critisicms.
I do still appreciate the drama, despite not liking the last episodes. But then again everyone has their own tastes
Actually i like slice of life dramas. But i wanted to give this drama a chance. I could not understand why this…
Totally respect that nothing is everyone's cup of tea. I absolutely loved this drama, and its in my top 5 list (1. Extracurricular 2. Mr Sunshine 3. My Mister 4. Flower of Evil 5. Prison Playbook) but I did roll my eyes at certain cliched parts... I also didn't particularly appreciate the ending. Dragged out way too long.
I'm on ep 8 and I can relate to you. I do understand what's going on, but I don't know why everything feels so…
Bruhhhh I just finished it and christ it was definitely hands down the best kdrama I've watched. It had the most memorable/ impactful ending in my opinion. Seriously, no other K drama has left me in such mindfuck at the end...
To me this has a more psychotic comedic vibe, whereas FOE has a more psychotic serious vibe.

1. I would like to marry Soo Jin.
2. I am team Soo Jin.
