Hmm, so new episodes today seems to confirm what I always thought watching. Shen Siyi is bisexual and is in love with Lu Ke (it is subtle but it's there especially if you have seen the deleted scenes).
Only problem is Lu Ke doesn't know or is straight herself. Hahaha
I am now extremely curious how its going to end. I wonder if they can keep this storyline intact to the end, the editing is messy trying to hide a lily drama in a bg skin. Censorship is such *****.
I like show and Im on ep 17 sister power. I like Luke personality alot she is better single in my humble opinion…
There is a reason for that. Siyi is very possessive of Lu Ke because she is deeply afraid of losing her. Lu Ke was and still is her only friend, only person to care about her since childhood.
Despite her tough persona on the surface, Siyi is actually very fragile on the inside. It is a defense mechanism due to her insecurity.
People wondering or wanting a gl have to realize that a real gl or bl drama would never get past censorship (especially since this is also broadcasting on national tv). All previous dramas of this type, bl or gl have never went there (that I know of). And no bromance is not the same as bl, if people consider previous bl dramas as bl, this is most definitely a gl.
While the 2 leads do have bfs, they are very short lived. The true heart and emotional lines are between the two of them. The gl vibe is actually very strong. You would think they are in love (certainly how Siyi feels about Lu Ke) or a couple with the way they are acting around each other. So if you are a shipper, shipping them is very normal.
The show is skirting at the edge of a cliff not wanting to fall off. The bg line is there to hide from censorship. There are scenes that were cut probably because it was deemed too much to handle by censorship.
So they just had their second kiss...and its even more funny than the first one. The ML was blocking the FL face the whole time with his hand. People are laughing and memeing hard saying it a fake kiss cause he is afraid of his real wife at home, then proceed to post a picture of his real life wife with a killer stare.
I can't tell if it just unintentional or if the director is a genius, breaking the 4th wall like that. Hahahaha
this drama is such a breath of fresh air!!! i don't get why everyone is so against the age gap, why is it okay…
It's not the age gap, it's the ML looks. The demographics of mydramalist and the intl. audience is very particular.
This drama reaches a much broader audience in China, whom the vast majority seems to have no problem with this. The show itself is very enjoyable, with likable characters, good acting and funny. The very high popularity is only natural to follow.
The drama would probably get the same reaction here if the audience was wider. But it is just not readily available to reach the masses. No decent subtitles yet as well.
But the problem is our male lead looks a lot older and like a grandpa. That is what people are having an issue…
But there is no cringe factor at all. Their relationship is fun and supportive/competitive and not romantic. It is not that kind of drama. There are no intimate scenes in this, even their one kiss is funny.
If seeing an older guy having fun with a younger girl is cringy then I don't know what to tell you.
The romance tag is throwing people off as it is not a romance. It is a light-hearted comedy.
I think it going to be a little weird to see a different and a younger actress to play Appledog. Because in the…
The story of this span years, from a young Appledog (when she met DT) to an older version pass GGS. The events of GGS should be in between. After is where the Solo breakup happen and DT pursue of Appledog begins. Squid and Gun should be married when they show up in this.
Li Yitong isn't that young, she just looks young. She is older then Hu Yitian by three years, same as the book hehehe. Appledog in GGS actually look way older then she should be. Alas, they needed someone to play both version of Appledog, hence the recast.
Only thing I am not sure about is the change from cybersecurity to robotics engineering especially with the kk team returning. Like how are they going to explain that?
Although I'm not really bothered by the age gap, I feel like this drama is trying too hard to ignore itMy Chinese…
Maybe it is just early so the problems haven't started yet. It is suppose to shift at some point from the fun.
I do feel it would be a miss opportunity if they didn't mention it. However I can also see why they would want to steer clear as it is quite controversial.
Perhaps they just want the audience to decide for themselves without the characters swaying the opinions one way or the other
Age is just a number afterall. This drama is also not what many people seems to think it is. This is NOT an idol…
New clips, reactions and such.
They really play up the comedic aspect. It's all fun and funny. The intro song is particularly catchy, silly and hilarious.
Li Yitong plays a particularly fierce and feisty role in this totally unlike her previous roles. I can already see the laughs coming due to her behavior haha.
I always feel disheartened when I read comments about age gap romances.. Everyone is entitled to their opinions…
Age is just a number afterall.
This drama is also not what many people seems to think it is. This is NOT an idol drama. If you are worried about mushy mushy romance... don't be, cause there isn't going to be any.
This is mainly meant to challenge social hot issues through the use of comedy.
Cancelled is not the right word. It never was even in pre-production. Rumor was that people were looking to buy the rights to make this into drama but there been no news on that front.
Not sure where the casting rumors came from either.
Whoever can edit this should probably remove this entry until the project is further along with some actual confirmations or more concrete rumors.

I just thought that western culture usually are more open than eastern culture.
I am sorry if you thought I was attacking you. I am not.
I would think that the west would be more openminded than the east, guess not, hahaha.

She slowed down alot since going out on her own. She is only doing 2 a year these days.
All of her newly filmed and upcoming dramas have high quality production teams behind it.
Whether they end up good is not really predictable, but at least they have potential.

However these review are probably bogus unless they are Chinese and manage to catch the premiere over there.
