I can understand where you come from, yeah most of the BL stories still show toxic masculinity (forcing oneself on the other, love hate relation crossing lines) and portray the main lead to be a straight guy who still falls in love with only one boy and they show it as if it is something positive but when its actually not.
But I think 1000 stars actually differs from the rest and i think even you would agree that cause already 8 episodes are out and I don't find them doing any of the above stuff and they convey the feelings of main leads in much healthy manner!
And come on it doesn't deserve same rating as tonhoncholante or whatever which clearly sucks in many of the above aspects.
both of your predictions are wrong, 1. no they don't want to mask the love developed in tian with Torfun's heart, because it is clearly there in the trailer where a friend says brian is resposible for feelings not the heart, so check the trailer 2. he might be related to race but for sure Tian won't be driving the car which hit Torfun, because that would make him more a negative character then a hero and it doesn't make sense.
