How about HJP finds the love of an old woman, would that work as well?

This is an unfair assessment because the playing field isn't even.

How often do you see a love triangle, where the other guy, HJP, does everything in his power to level the playing field, but the main guy, NDS, does everything he can to monopolize SDM's time? Even though HJP and NDS are not friends, HJP still often acts like the bigger man, giving praise when it's due, and doesn't slander NDS in front of SDM. Can you say the same for NDS?

Truth of the matter, the writer, and the characters in the show has consistently made sure that HJP almost never has even a moment alone with SDM, while at the same time goes out of their way to put SDM and NDS in romantic situations.

Even in real life, its highly difficult to fall for someone, you see maybe 5-10 times a month, versus someone you work with everyday. This is why extra marital affairs occur, and why a lot of long distance relationships falter.

The way everything is being portrayed here is very highly unrealistic and romanticized, even by Kdrama standards.

To be honest, with the remaining 4 episodes, and the fact that SDM has not shown any interest in HJP at all.

The remaining episode will probably just be about SDM ands NDS falling in love again, and how their NEW company becomes bigger than Tesla. Then 1-2 episodes showing them dating, fan service, maybe even a wedding episode.

Park Hye Run and her team has a contractual obligation to Nam Joo Hyuk and Bae Suzy's agency to provide at least 2 episodes showing them dating and having fun.

I'm not sure if they are able to fit HJP and WIJ in the limited episodes they have. The schedule is already tight as is.

SPOILER for EPISODE 13

After the three year time skip, SDM actually ends up being the clingy one. She starts to stalk NDS throughout Sandbox. Names her project Tarzan after her memories of NDS, and even cyber stalks NDS online via Cheul San's Blog.

SDM finally catches NDS, and in her hand she holds what appears to be a ring box. NDS holds the box, and like a mirror being shown to him, NDS realize how toxic he was three years ago, and he is turned off by SDM's stalker tendencies. He lets her down gently by telling her he would like to focus on his startup, to which SDM replies.

SDM: You're breaking up with me?

Dosan flips his hair, looks Dalmi in the eyes and says cooly.

NDS: We were never dating you weirdo.

HJP and WIJ can be seen slow clapping in the background, as NDS walks away to the tune of "Please, Forget About Me".

I don't think money is the issue, have you seen some of these awards show? Some of them look like they just rented a HS gym and "decorated" it.

Oh wait, you mean they are using the rarely used "Is that the guy, I love? I better chase him... Oopsie, wrong guy, now I have coffee on me!" strategy? This writer is such an outlier, using all these techniques that have NEVER EVER been used by other kdramas.

The creativity of this madwomen continually astounds me!

I mean what's next? NDS using drones to spell will you marry me? Oops, I might have just spoiled the ending :(

I'm just going to imagine that Start Up is a mini series that starts at Ep. 13 and just ignore all preceding 12 episodes. Then maybe it will make sense.

On MDL, almost all the HJP fans are quite mature.

Everyone agrees, the first 4-5 episodes is a good mix. But from episode 6 onwards, there has been VERY LITTLE plot that involved the business aspects of the show. Family is barely shown, as Won In Jae's screen time has been cut to that of a cameo.

It's an LED engagement ring box, I didn't know such things existed.

I was just thinking after re-watching the Ep. 13 preview that what we are seeing is misleading. I think what we are actually seeing is something like this.

The ransomware part will happen earlier in the episode, and NDS will come back to solve it.

I think that NDS invites SDM to create a company and he calls it Tarzan. The reason I feel this is because, there is a chance that SDM does not grow and still feels jealous of WIJ. And, I can't imagine somebody with SDM's jealousy would willingly give WIJ her idea. I don't think they will show the sisters patching it up during the time skip.

So Tarzan is actually formed with the SST and Saha as their original plan was.

I also do not think HJP and SDM will be in a relationship because of the body language when they are at SDM house. HJP has been brother zoned, and SDM treats him like a brother instead.

I also noticed that HJP has moved away from his tshirt/sports jacket and italian shoes look. And instead opted for a sedentary look of vest, tie and rubber shoes. He looked more like a tenured professor here than cool investor. NDS on the other hand has pretty much copied HJP old style, complete with the expensive car.

And remember when NDS and HJP were arguing about SDM, and HJP say's then let's switch. I think after the 3 year time skip, this is exactly what happened. NDS became the man outside looking in, HJP got a family he can spend time with. And another thing I think that switched is their wealth status.

NDS will be coming back very wealthy, and HJP will lose a majority of his money investing in a non profitable company like noon gil. Remember Grandma says, come to me when you have no more money and need a roof to sleep in. I think that is what happens, and HJP is living with Grandma as well.

Not sure about the ring box though LOL!

Just proving a point, there hasn't been much else to discuss other than the romance.

The show has been 95% romance, and only 5% business.

Even if people wanted to discuss something else, it's near impossible. There is literally no other plot lines that are shrouded in mystery.

The last story to talk about the revenge arc, was very unsatisfactory and resolved in less than 10 minutes of screen time.

Everything else to talk about is who SDM will end up with. Even the notions of the start up business isn't fleshed out enough to talk about.

I am genuinely curious though if Cheul San will open a resort in his Misaeng farm as has been hinted.
