In my opinion, this group of actors has the best chemistry among all the groups in this series

Watching how this story is unfolding, I'm fearful that the emperor will hv vindictive notion for our ML and he may be the reason (power) behind the killing of ML's mother. Ever suspicious and scheming, the emperor will create more trouble for the Hua family in the near future especially if he learns that he cannot "control" his nephew connection with Hua family.

After watching ZJY nailing her role performance in this drama, I'm looking forward to watch her with Xiao Zhan in her next costume drama! A good script with good acting makes a good drama!

As for HYT, his facial expression ability is limited. Same look of "big eyes and bewildered" in every drama he is in. But who cares, I'm watching this because of the Hua family women!😁😅

I'm relieved that I could complete this drama. Was at the verge of muting the sound whenever Bai Chai goes on rattling " Ah Gou". It feels that her script contains only "Ah Gou" and no other words. So annoying and irritating character that is so clingy.

I agree with you. This S&F is better than the other 2 that recently aired. These new actors are doing a decent job. Also the storyline and script is so much better.

I think it is the scriptwriter's failure on not being able to develop Ning's character. She is supposedly the future "queen" of the land and that's one of the main reason she has insisted to follow ML dispite her uncle's order to return to the city. Perhaps, her character will undergo war hardship that will make her grow up quickly out of her naivety. Quite sure there will be more deaths of major characters as well before this drama ends.

I'm enjoying this drama with its intricate politics and plots. As the title reflects, the focus is on "brotherhood", so please don't raise your expectation on romance or CP.
The tale begins with the brotherhood of the senior generation of 3 sworn brothers; the eldest died (leaving his biological younger brother taking the throne); the 2nd sworn brother a revered general protecting the borders at Yuanzhou and the 3rd sworn brother a major minister who rebeled and caused the breakout of a civil war.
It then follows through with the younger generation brotherhood of another 3 sworn brothers.

I stumbled on this drama recently and would like to thank you for giving us the actual ending as per the script. It makes more sense now than what we saw on TV. Guess it was quite predictable she won't end up with KangXi, to avoid upsetting China history (even on drama). I'm also doubtful there will be a Season 2

Just watched the final episode last night. Let's see how did my predictions do:
1. Yes, it was true that the old king had A'Mai family killed.
2. Yes, Chen Qi was indeed a spy for Nanxia King including the new one.
3. No, there wasn't any overthrowing of the throne, but ML did become king. ML character also became the heartless king, willing to sacrifice a whole city including the army that was sent to protect it.
4. Yes, FL can't be with ML. The status change being that ML sacrificed and caused the death of many FL's soldiers, the same soldiers who had protected him from death so many times, incl. a coup by the sinister Prime Minister.
5. Yes, Chen Qi died in the hands of A'Mai. Sacrificing his life so that Beimo army will retreat and not rage forward to Shengdu.
6. Yes, there was 3 yrs of peace after the death of Chen Qi. 2ML and A'Mai also became the guardians at the borders. To further add, Beimo is facing internal strife, so the borders will stay peaceful longer.

Quite a predictable drama, wasn't it? And no, I didn't read the novel.

After watching 20 episodes, my guesses are as follows;
1) A Mai's parents were killed by the order of Nanxia's king. Yes, the same insecured king that wants to kill 1ML.
2) Chen Qi after carrying out the king's order had to defect to Beimo, but I'm not sure whether he could be a spy implanted by the Nanxia king.
3) 1ML will mature very quickly and lead his people to overthrow the crazy king and become the new Nanxia King. Most likely after it is revealed that the current crazy king has been killing his own people due to his insecurity.
4) FL can't be with 1ML due to this status change.
5) Chen Qi will die, most likely trying to save A Mai. A life debt repayment.
6) Peace treaty between Beimo and Nanxia with 2ML and A Mai takes on the responsibility of keeping peace at the borders of their own country thus the drama title "Fighting for Love"(and Peace).

IMO, same eye makeup FL spells..."BORING". Watched through 6 episodes and decided to put "on hold" while I swing over to the other. But that's just my opinion..

LTG behaves like spoilt brat kid! Everything he wants, he must have.

I'm glad that I am not the only one who sees this. FSF acting was not good, he seems to be suffering from a stiff neck throughout this drama! IMO, his Lord Ding's character was unnecessary.

I think the script could hv been better written with a love story between First Prince and MZH and both of them giving up their personal love interest to serve their country.

Sound editing is quite bad in this production. So often the background music and singing drowns the actors dialogue that I ended up reading the subtitles to follow the story.

There is a possibility that LLH survived because he is the direct descendant of Nanyin royalty and the bicha poison is nanyin's curated poison, similar to how his blood could destroy the mother bug. Furthermore, he has the Yangzhouman's skill that has kept him alive for more than a decade. Wishful thinking perhaps?

Doesn't LLH reminds us of Mei Chang Su? Both were young and their prime, and both fell and were poisoned, sickly and dying.

I'm placing this drama on hold until later episodes are screening. The first 10 episodes are giving me a headache.

I just can't stand RenMin's portrayal of Zhu Yan. Ridiculously rude, extremely loud and awfully disrespectful. What's making it worse is why would XZ character Shi Ying tolerate this? Illogical story plot.

Why does one need to explain the ending OUTSIDE of the drama? Doesn't that show bad scriptwriting and directing?

Agree with you. Initial episodes had FL makeup like a normal(refreshing) girl. The minute she became the phoenix, her old (boring) makeup came back. Can never understand why FL makeup and headgear never changes regardless what drama she acts. Perhaps there is a standard clause in her contract that she must have these?

Ending was abrupt and excuse my word "stupid" and failed terribly.

As for the ML, they had to find one which will not overshadow the FL. His scripts on being hero must also not overshadow FL's Phoenix.

So with that in mind, this drama was "destined" to be a flop.

Finally I read someone spotted this. I fully agree with you that ML's behavior of keeping the truth from FL is cruel and mean. Remember that FL initial jumped off the cliff because of Wen Wan's plot and now ML knows the truth, he still hasn't taken any action on WenWan.
