Does anyone feel the same way?Minor spoiler for ep.2 ⬇️
So we are just going to brush over the fact that he straight up kidnapped her. She actively tries to get away and no one is helping her. If this happened in real life this would be so scary and sad. If the ML wasn't handsome the genre would be considered horror/thriller.... Are we supposed to root for Jae Mi and Hae Jo? They have not really given us a reason to hate on the second lead and Jae Min still wants to marry him... Does anyone feel the same way? Does it get better??
Yes, I think that point really threw me off!!! We rarely see thicker people in kdramas and than they show/use them in such a way. It felt really intentional...
Ep 6, the online scam girl I felt like she was manly made fun of because she was bigger. She's seen as unattractive therfore is crazy for flirting with "more handsome" man and is really pushy. It's also seen as weird when she trys to look pretty. As soon as that one guy sees her he is disappointed and some what disgusted. (Later on its revealed that she is cheating on her boyfriend but I still felt like the weight thing was more prevalent.) Of course she is also obsessed with chicken and all her fat friends as well. If a "pretty" girl eats a lot it's quirky. She is agressive and "really strong" (-> not feminine). I understand that they're bad people in generell for the cheating, drug abuse and scams, but I felt like the "jokes" where still based on their weight...
The most prominent fan of Ko Won in the first episodes is also thicker (every one else in the background is not) and she is portrait in a similar way as obsessive and aggressive.
But I'm also curious how others perceived these scenes. It felt weird for me but maybe I'm just reading too much into it?
If you are ok with slower shows, I recommend watching it!
It literally took me from fall till spring to finish this series which fits the storyline well haha A great drama with interesting characters and relationships. They all felt very "realistic" and had great character development. ((The message at the end was really sweet. To whoever wrote it, I love you and I hope you have a good night as well! :") ))
I'm really enjoying it so far (-ep4) but why is she wearing a different jacket every day??? They also do this in other kdramas but it's very noticeable in this one haha

but that was very unnecessary. Did nothing but hurt the characters...
