How old are main characters (Fei, Xie Yun, Sheng, Chuchu)? Are they supposed to be in late teens?
yes, they are supposed to be in late teens. I believe the story starts when AF was 16 or 17 but a few years may have passed considering everything that has happened.

Anyone know why XY gave AF’s mom the brown pouch with the needle in it?? It’s in episode 43
its the soul connecting needles (sorry I forgot what the actual name of it was) that he once used to connect his meridians again in order to use his force. (this happened in episode 25 or 26 I believe) AF's mom was internally injured therefore she needed those to make her martial arts improve so she could battle the demons. sorry, this is just the general idea, Chinese isn't my first language so translating everything is difficult.
