Really liking it so far, I'm happy that we're getting characters that are actually smart. Esther's character is witty, she knows when to be soft and when to speak up for herself. Ryan's character seems a bit rude at first but he's actually really cute and thoughtful. I'm a fan of the original novel and I have to say both of them did very well, quite fitting with their characters.

I wish this didn't have the typical loud-clumsy-noisy female lead...
If you actually read the original novel, female lead is def not the useless-clumsy-cutesy-noisy type. Her character setup is really good and shows development from a newly-graduated student to a highly-respected editor.

I'm still wondering how did they come up with the title "Moonlight" when this drama is about somewhat like authors...…
I think Moonlight is a reference to the publishing company Yuan Yue in the drama and a metaphor of some kind to the main characters' impact on the publishing industry.

Yeah, it's based on the novel of the same name by Qing Mei.
I don't think it's translated in English yet, but if you want to read in Chinese, you can type 月光变奏曲 on Google and several sites for reading in Chinese should pop up.

The synopsis makes it sound like a love triangle between two guys and one girl but trailer shows Esther Yu as…
I'm pretty sure she's the male lead's fiancee, so of course she has to be interested in him.
