On I Saw You in My Dream Oct 3, 2024
Finished!
As many other promising series it got lost along the way, it's a pity that they explained the "dream thing" in that way because if that were to be true, Ai's mother would have acted differently in former episodes...

But anyway: loved the characters and their dynamics, they felt pretty real and relatable and all the boys acted well.
I was torn between a 7.5 and an 8, but I'll go with 7.5 because that last episode wasn't a fitting finale.

About the overdramatic scenes, what can I say it's a lakorn. I agree that the story was going in circles. I'm…
Oh, I actually didn't notice Only You! Thanks for the tip, I'll check the pilot.

I felt the same that's why couldn't enjoy much. Idk if director is the problem or not because I faced similar…
agreed! and I kinda feel that's particularly true with Thai shows - like, I rewatched Sotus and, although some scenes are timeless, I cannot say it aged well... I have a feeling the same goes with YoN. XD
The power of youth and of momentum! XD
On The Secret of Us Oct 2, 2024
Finally finished... put the last three eps on while ironing. XD

It took me ages to finish this one, although it started out as one of my most awaited series of this year: the premises were great AND the actors, both the two leads and the supporting cast, did a great job. But along the way it got lost, started running in circles, basically showing us either:
1. flashbacks
2. diabetical fluff
3. overdramatic crazy scenes

I kinda have a problem with these acting-like-crazy female characters in GL, throwing things everywhere, screaming... holy moly, we're lesbians we're not psychos, you know? o.o

My comfort moments were from doctor Tan and doctor Bow, these two friends were so precious!

Anyway, we're getting more and more GL series and that's great, so I'm happy I watched till the end and I'll stay tuned for other projects of LingLing and Orm as a pair. <3

out of topic maybe, but when we're talking about movies that are SO old (like Yes or No for istance), I think it's impossible to rewatch and just rate them the same as a 2024 product: so much has changed in the industry, and (thankfully also) in society.

Finished! And I surprisingly shed a tear at the end, because of all the sweetness overload and the cozyness.
I must admit I didn't feel the chemistry between the two leads at first, but both Isumi and Amazawa had a way to insinuate into my heart and at the end, I was basically "happy that they are happy".

Simple story, honest characters, lovely friends, nice and heartwarming development. As always, what I like the most in these JDramas is the feeling of "being inside a warm bubble" in which things move slow but smoothly.
It's an 8/10 for me.

On a sidenote: how can they eat so much? Some dinners were for 4 people, not for two! XD

10–11 years (but the younger one seems much more mature when you compare the behaviors 😅)
I don't think the age gap matters here, the only episode in which they mention it is the final one but it totally doesn't affect the storytelling and the characters. Plus, the younger character feels way more mature than what he actually is.

Title Kidnap
Finally managed to catch up on this one - I must say I had greater expectations from the story, which seemed quite rough and choppy up to now but looks like will get more complex with ep5 onwards.

Anyway, I'm mostly here to support Ohm who's one of the best thai actors out there and I wasn't disappointed: he's always so charismatic and elegant! I'm rooting for Leng too, he's such a sweet boy bts and he sure needs time to master his acting, BUT he "works well" with Ohm.

Can I say I'm loving Title here too? I sooooo hope he can get a main role, and I hope his character, James, keeps being the good guy here and won't hide secrets up his sleeves!

Honorable mention, as always: Papang. #mainroleforpapang!

10/01/2024....I originally gave this drama a 10, until they aired ep 9 of this drama. All I can say, is I don't…
Agree - the problem of this series isn't the intimacy between T&Y, BUT the way in which the production team turned an interesting plot into a messy thing.

Doh, I almost forgot it was Monday, thankfully this week we didn't skip our BotW weird but unmissable episode... what a guilty pleasure! <3

Anyway!
I'm not really sure how and where it should have gotten better... maybe because they spoke less, so less absurd dialogues? But the ones we got were weirder than ever... like, whenever we get Ozone on screen it gets nonsensical. Can we cast him aside from the story? He's one of the most fastidious characters in a BL up to now... level "female friend in SunsetxVibes"-kind-of fastidious.
I liked the beginning of Shan's joke to Ob-aun, I thought it was cute at first, but I was expecting him to tell him way sooner: lying for so long became kind of a bullying, honestly.

The seaside scene was USELESS. Why, oh why? I get the fanservice, but that was SO out of the blue. Sigh.

The love-making scene between Shan and Ob-aun felt a bit stretched and boring (I get it, Tutor has one hell of a body and so does Yim, but we can press "pause" to watch it, so... let's make something else happen?), BUT whateverhappenedinthecaveohwowwhathappened? Yim basically played "the lamb" and one second after he was the tiger. What? Well done, boy!

I liked how they contrasted the two NC scenes, even changing the colour of the blindfold... black and white, yin and yang, open and hidden, romantic and passionate love.

I keep saying my favourite moments are the wuxia scenes... can we get a special episode ONLY with the story of the demon king and the sect's lord? Please? Tutor and Yim slay in those clothes...!

Can't wait for next Monday... this series is my 2024's "Tuxedo" - the fun and good kind of weird!

Honestly, ep11 irritated me quite a bit.
The (fake) badminton match was useless, and Ai deserved an earful: who in his right mind takes all those meds? That's borderline su!cidal!
Plus, why not telling P'Yu about the dreams since basically everybody in the neighbourhood knows about it? P'Yu was way too kind, caring and condescending with Ai, anyone would have just thought "my boyfriend is crazy I'mma run away as fast as I can!"

He is always a great actor. BLs and gmmtv were gatekeeping him in a certain type of role.
the warp effect is a great series! if you haven't watched it, you have to: New is exceptional and his role is so much fun, plus there are so many interesting secondary characters... I think it has to be one of my fav series of the last couple of years!
