I'm only on ep5 and honestly, I was expecting much worse given the comments and the ratings: it's a very classic…
And, finished! Again, it's not as terrible as I thought it'll be, on the contrary - made me laugh a lot, smile, giggle and care for the characters. 7.5/10 for me, I've seen waaaaaaaaay worse!
I think the main problem for many people is Jade's characters, who's over the top BUT is clearly on the spectrum (English is not my first language, so pardon me if writing it like this might sound offensive): Yim gave it his all to act with the whole body, with his lips, his hands... I think it had to be a very challenging role.
I haven't read the novel nor I've seen the previous series (Bed Friends - but I will), so I don't know how Jade's character is in the novel... but I really really liked the fact that he was not "just a goofy nerd", and that Mai (and all the friends and coworkers) understood and embraced that.
That said: TutorYim were lovely, I liked NetJames too and their dynamics as an already established couple in this series. It's a fun thai romcom but there are some very nice, heartwarming and deep scenes (as I said before: ep5 coming out, ep7 coming out at work, ep8 honest dialogue about ex boyfriends...). Nice songs for the OST, the direction and editing were pretty average even tho' it didn't look like a low-budget series... that's a pity because the idea perse was pretty nice (reminded me of "Kahogo no Kahoko", 2017 Jdrama) and I loved how Jade's character became braver and braver but still being himself.
Keeps getting better week after week! You know what? This show is just like Linus' blanket: it's nothing extraordinary, but it's a safezone to warm your heart!
Big is such a charismatic actor, and God's character is basically a cute marshmellow labrador exuding positivity and acceptance, I love him! Honestly, we'd need more extroverts like him: trying to understand and embrace other people, and not to change them.
I'm only on ep5 and honestly, I was expecting much worse given the comments and the ratings: it's a very classic romcom with exaggerated and nonsensical humour, BUT the actors did quite a good job with their characters.
I had to stop bingewatching for a moment to say that Mai's coming out scene to his family was so unexpected: so simple and natural, very positive! I'll remember to add a +0.5 to the final rating because of this scene. That said, back to the drama!
Love love looooove the guests' cameos! I didn't realize it was Ciize until we saw her with no make-up!
I must admit "the scary moments" are pretty scary for me, I'm not a horror fan so I get startled pretty easily... but I'm loving the balance between the comic and the scary parts, and all the acting is so dynamic and funny!
So, it's hard making sense of the characters we have already, and we'll get another one in next episode? Why? Sigh.
I find Ozone to be so fastidious: the whole wedding part was quite absurd, and then out of the blue he changes his haircolour and starts blabbermouthing Shan (I would kick my friends if they kept talking to me while being so near!), and... how much time did he spend in the bathroom? And Shan/Ozone dialogue was so plain that I kept falling asleep.
Saddest thing: no costumes scenes in this episode.
Best thing: Tutor is always so beautiful, it makes up for everything else.
This is really a pity - I like the concept of the series and our boys Tutor/Yim are a perfect couple... but sigh, the execution is so sloppy.
Ahahahaha, looks like we'll have a lot of fun for the next three months! Loved all the cast, and Perth's guest appearance in this first episode! Also, I really love the OST, it's so catchy!
I really loved this episode! I can understand the people saying we need more RyanJane screentime and I partially agree, even tho' I would vote anytime for a motion to the Parliament asking for a centuplication of Off's screentime in whatever situation, so I might be biased... BUT! But I feel Tae/Bahmee's moments and getting back together was not a waste of time - they never fell short of love one for the other, their point was always miscommunication and hopefully now they realized that "falling in love" is not the same as "being in love and make your love last", which needs efforts and time from both parts. They stepped back for a moment, realized how important the other person is, and decided to try again. Happens pretty often in life - it doesn't mean it will work now (it probably won't), but it was pretty clear Bahmee wasn't in love with Judy anyway. Plus, I find nice the contrast between P'Judy's smoothness and way too friendly behaviour with her trainee, and P'Jane's more professional and responsible kind of mentoring.
I love how this drama feels so real and relatable, and how Jane and Ryan are slowly being more comfortable one with the other in a pretty natural way.
Off in that red shirt, holy moly. I really laugh a lot when I think of how chaotic, crazy and wild Off is, and how composed and serious Jane's character is!
Aside from some absurd notes on tops and bottoms, this comment section is almost more enthralling than the series itself, with all the speculations and theories and crazy ideas on the hows and whys of this drama! Can't wait for ep7 and ep8, what a great ride will this ending be!
This is hilarious, whenever these guys come together it's total entropy! I laughed so much that I cried, I love these kinds of programs... somehow they remind me of the old Jeux sans frontières, with people having fun and being themselves!
Awwwww my face hurts from smiling! This series is just so cute: it slowly progresses with no huge ups&downs, like an everyday flow of happenings... God and Diew are both taking steps one toward the other with such a positive and heartwarming respect!
To be honest, my only issue up to now is that Big looks a bit too old for this role... but I'm not complaining, I'm so happy to see him in a main role, especially in such a positive one!
Awwww I thought we would start this week but there's a special BTS episode before the series airs? >.<
The trailer was a ride: Ohm rocks any role he's given, with any partner, and Leng has that kind of interesting beauty that will make the ship pretty fun! Can't wait!
I wasn't expecting those kisses! They are so cute together. <3
This episode was a bit less messier than usual, maybe because we had only few chat-scenes; I really can't stand Ozone as a character, and same goes for Pie... plus, I don't quite understand what's the ship supposed to be: Ozone/Pie or Ozone/Sin or Ozone/Min?
I might be the only one who likes the costumes' scenes? I really have a thing for xia's clothes and I sooooooo very much hope we can get some GOOD historical drama with a m/m couple!
10/10 from me. It gives you an idea of what happens behind the scenes in the BL business. They could have stretched…
Agreed! I've watched it as it aired, and rewatched it a few times... it's always a nice ride, somehow I feel like it was one of the first BL series being "less BL" and more "story/character oriented". There are some very meaningful moments and dialogues, and the main cast did an amazing job portraying their roles!
Bruce is a great actor, he shined in every role he played - I really hope we can get more important roles for him.
Another great episode - I would have loved a bit more OffGun, but their moments are always poignant so that's ok! I don't know if it's the make-up or the style, but Off looks so charismatic in this series!
I honestly didn't expect the preview from next episode with Tae wanting to take Bahmee back... I don't see her chemistry with Judy, it looks like she just wants attentions and she feels safe and loved with Judy... but we'll see.
Best thing in the preview: Off with that red shirt, omg!
No more japanese BL adaptations please Gmmtv. Cherry Magic TH is the only one to have managed to impress us. MLMU…
Agreed - and I'm honestly pretty scared for Ossan's love, since it's one of my comfort dramas: I love EarthMix but Earth didn't really convince me in the scenes we saw up to now. Fingers crossed!
The best part of this episode was Kidnap's trailer.
...just joking of course, but: I'm happy it's over - although I liked the final episode, it wasn't enough to redeem the general boredom I felt while watching this series. 10 episodes would probably had been enough. Gem4 did their best, and so did the other actors, but the drama just lacked spark and felt needlessly slow.
I'll jump on board! :D

Pang/Jan being a Polca is just <3
