Doh, I almost forgot it was Monday, thankfully this week we didn't skip our BotW weird but unmissable episode... what a guilty pleasure! <3

Anyway!
I'm not really sure how and where it should have gotten better... maybe because they spoke less, so less absurd dialogues? But the ones we got were weirder than ever... like, whenever we get Ozone on screen it gets nonsensical. Can we cast him aside from the story? He's one of the most fastidious characters in a BL up to now... level "female friend in SunsetxVibes"-kind-of fastidious.
I liked the beginning of Shan's joke to Ob-aun, I thought it was cute at first, but I was expecting him to tell him way sooner: lying for so long became kind of a bullying, honestly.

The seaside scene was USELESS. Why, oh why? I get the fanservice, but that was SO out of the blue. Sigh.

The love-making scene between Shan and Ob-aun felt a bit stretched and boring (I get it, Tutor has one hell of a body and so does Yim, but we can press "pause" to watch it, so... let's make something else happen?), BUT whateverhappenedinthecaveohwowwhathappened? Yim basically played "the lamb" and one second after he was the tiger. What? Well done, boy!

I liked how they contrasted the two NC scenes, even changing the colour of the blindfold... black and white, yin and yang, open and hidden, romantic and passionate love.

I keep saying my favourite moments are the wuxia scenes... can we get a special episode ONLY with the story of the demon king and the sect's lord? Please? Tutor and Yim slay in those clothes...!

Can't wait for next Monday... this series is my 2024's "Tuxedo" - the fun and good kind of weird!

Honestly, ep11 irritated me quite a bit.
The (fake) badminton match was useless, and Ai deserved an earful: who in his right mind takes all those meds? That's borderline su!cidal!
Plus, why not telling P'Yu about the dreams since basically everybody in the neighbourhood knows about it? P'Yu was way too kind, caring and condescending with Ai, anyone would have just thought "my boyfriend is crazy I'mma run away as fast as I can!"

Is it the Mandarin version? Cos I love the Thai version but it's not released yet.
Yes, the chinese version is so elegant! I'm waiting for the Thai version too tho'! <3

He is always a great actor. BLs and gmmtv were gatekeeping him in a certain type of role.
the warp effect is a great series! if you haven't watched it, you have to: New is exceptional and his role is so much fun, plus there are so many interesting secondary characters... I think it has to be one of my fav series of the last couple of years!

I'm sorry, which fandom are "bubbles" fans? (asking out of curiosity)

I’ve got to say, the supporting cast in Monster Next Door really steals the show—and in the best way possible.…
Really loved this analysis! Thanks for sharing your pov!

I was searching like crazy for ep9 because the previews after ep8 looked great... BUT, oh well.
Let's wait.
Poor Tutor&Yim, that's not really the best production company they're working with...

Ep 9 won't be airing until the 30th. The production was suspended to make improvements to the plot due to complaints…
o.O

i have a feeling it will be even more confusing... it's unthinkable that they can reshoot and actually change things in one week, so they'll probably just re-edit something and that will make everything even worse.

i mean... this drama is crazy and definitely badly executed, BUT it has its own charme and last episodes were way better than the first ones!

The unwritten law that If one gets wet under the rain, the following day has a cold with fever never fails!

Only now I had the time to watch ep9 and I really felt for Beer AND Wan: I can empathize with both of them and I love how their characters dynamics work, it's not just the "we're friends so we can't be lovers" clichè but it's more of a complete drawing of both characters' personality.

Yay for Putter's cameo: that was nice too!

Can't wait to bingewatch the final 3 eps! <3

is this not good?
Depends on your taste - I'm really liking it: there's not much drama, it's very slowpaced and sweet and the main character is such a green flag! It's a very positive and heartwarming series.

Ok, this episode was a bit over the top and kinda useless... feels strange to have such a filler episode when still so much hasn't been said yet. Anyway, my biggest problem is: why all the "preview for next episode" are so tragic? T____T

Such a cute show! It's so calm and peaceful, and Isumi-kun is a ball of fluff and cuteness!

Uhm, this episode was messier than usual... basically nothing made sense with anything.
BUT we got plenty of sweet moments for Shan&Obaun (I love how they interact, they're so cute!), AND James' cameo too! That's more than enough for me and my weekly dose of serotonin. <3

Yeah, I thought overall it was a great show, and I really loved the friendship between the interns, and the different…
Yes, especially since it clashed a lot with all his "precise and perfect" image and attitude in all the former episodes... he showed his disillusion a few times, but not as something "so big" as it was shown in the end.

Oh my... Even more office scenes? More to skip for me... 5 years and then meeting without keeping contact is not…
Honestly I didn't really feel they had a relationship while Ryan was a trainee - they were getting to know each other, they started "dating" but right after (the day after? two days after?) Jane left and their story ended basically before even starting. I agree with you that "silence for 5 years" is NOT a relationship.

When they met again, they are not trainee/mentor or youngnaiveRyan/workaholicbutinsecureJane anymore and that's when they can start a real relationship.

Title The Trainee
I'll probably be in the minority of people loving how this ended - yes, I agree that the "going abroad to study/work without a word for years" is such a trite clichè, but it didn't really weight that much here: both Jane and Ryan focused on something, succeeded, and then met again at their right time.

Loved ALL the characters and ALL the cast: I wish they could have spent more time on the work/office aspects because that would have been very interesting, but I still loved the overall result. If I only have one complaint, is that Jane's personal crisis towards the end felt a bit too abrupt and I would have liked a bit more focus on his insecurities earlier on, too.

Anyway! Now, to make it perfect we'd need a special episode with Tae&Bahmee's wedding in which we get to see Jane&Ryan's proposal, and their life as two adult boyfriends living together.

9/10 for me, I might be biased because I'm a huge OffGun fan, but I will really miss P'Jane, and Pie and the vibes of this drama!
