I don’t think it will be sad. If you look at scenes of in closing credits, there’s one of FSG in very simple garments. He’s with FYX. I think they leave everything behind & go live for themselves.
I keep replaying the scene of FSG in the rocking chair ruminating about the origin of FXY’s name. The playful convo and then him stopping her from getting off his lap are small happy moments they deserve.
