Yes to all the above. The romance is a slow burn. Every scene the main CP have together is a step in the development of their complicated relationship. The story itself is very compelling, involving Xie Wei’s revenge & Jiang Xue Ning’s attempt to change the fate of her and those around her.
Is it like a soap opera melodrama? I tend to don't like shows like that but this one looks interesting
It wasn’t on my radar at all. VIKI sent me a notification that it was airing. I watched the first episode & was immediately addicted despite Yi Joo being such a doormat in the beginning. The pacing is well done. The main couple are power force! Watch it!
JXN telling XS that JXN was once like her & hopes that she will change her ways. Wouldn’t it be awesome if Xue Shu did & ends up helping her half brother, Xie Wei? (I know. I know. I’m dreaming silly dreams.)

They will never be each other best friends but they now they do so where each other is coming from and they DEFINITELY have each other’s back. 3) XW in the carriage. She’s losing hope & XW is telling her to persevere.
Have you tried Perfect Marriage Revenge? It’s my current addiction (along with Story of Kunning Palace). If you can through most of the first episode, you will be hooked. Added bonus: wholesome green flag hero.
