Yes seems like Youku din care much about TTEOM as other dramas. It's the fans and viewers who love the show that indirectly helped make all the publicity and (free) marketing lol.
Also could be because Youku knew LYX can bring in a lot of viewers so they didn't want to exceed spending and would rather save to use if for other dramas which require more marketing.
The above are my opinions, cos I'm not sure about Youku's marketing strategy at all.

It is a toxic relationship but the characters portrayed are relatable because there is not a single perfectly good/nice/great or totally bad/evil character.

Love all the effort from each and every team member of TTEOM, it made the drama a huge success! From actors to directors to costumes to sets to CGI etc... a job well done πππ
