Sorry to disagree with you about Byeon Woo-seok as he's not any better looking. I would agree if you pick someone like Cha Eun Woo or Park Bo-Gum to compare their visuals.

Also, I’m not sure if MDL lets you track my watchlists or comments, but I’ve been watching, liking, and commenting on Jung Somin’s projects since 2017, after I saw her in My Father Is Strange. That was long before GYJ even became an actress.

What’s wrong with being a GYJ fan? Does that mean I don’t have the right to like or comment on Jung Somin’s work? And is what I said about actor Ryu Seung Beom incorrect? He’s been in the industry for more than 25 years. If she’s billed before him, that’s actually a good thing, especially considering he’s one of the highest paid actors in South Korea.

You can criticize her acting if you want, that’s fair. But why attack her personally? At that point it’s not really constructive criticism anymore, it just turns into hate comments. If you dislike her that much why waste so much time talking about her?
What’s strange is that when actors become popular quickly even if their acting isn’t great, people usually don’t show this level of hate. But when an actress becomes successful suddenly people start saying she must have a sugar daddy or some powerful backing. That kind of thinking is honestly pretty messed up.

I don’t mind if people give actual examples of why they think she’s not good, but instead they bring up things that aren’t even related to her performance.

I thought CMH was just going along with Hiro’s belief that it was CHM herself and not her second personality. And there was really no point explaining the Dorami situation anyway, since no one outside JHJ and her doctors knew about her condition.

Look who’s talking about being annoying. Your comments don’t seem constructive at all. If anything, they mostly come across as hate comments. At least @DeeVos took the time to put together a sensible argument.

Whenever you see lots of hate comments you know that the artist is either very popular or rising popularity. Haters would rather spent their time to leave hate comments here instead of using that time to hype up their favs.

No one said Jung So-min was bad, in fact she’s a great actress. But the story required Go Youn-jung to return, and she did. The show still ended up being successful regardless.

It was already a done deal that she was coming back. We can debate this until we turn blue, but it’s not going to change that fact. At the end of the day, they’re in the business to make money. It’s not charity work done just to satisfy the diehard fans of Season 1.

No matter how many years pass, nothing is going to change about Alchemy of Souls Season 2. And honestly, a lot of people loved it, so it clearly wasn’t the failure you’re claiming it was. If anything, you should probably take that up with the writers, the Hong Sisters, since they were the ones who decided to cast Go Youn-jung instead of keeping the original actress. And interestingly enough, they cast her again in their next project, which also ended up being commercially successful. So maybe they know a little more about casting than we do.

She seems to understand her own strengths, and I’m sure she’ll keep choosing projects that play to those. When the time comes and she feels ready to take on more complex roles, I’m sure she’ll go for it. I’m not complaining though. I’ll still be watching her work either way. And honestly, there are very popular actresses with 20+ years in the industry who have done the same thing, choosing roles that fit their strengths. I won’t name names.
