The cars, the fashion, the technology everything is a big mess in this drama. This is like a mishmash of China…
Can you explain a little more about this? The Qing ended in 1912 and the the PRC was founded in 1949. Shanghai was a foreign concession, so the technology, fashion, etc was all more Western. I think its pretty realistic for people to still hang onto the older traditions of the Qing while some embrace change.

His name in Chinese is written 路垚. The first character is the family name, the second is his name, which is a character composed of 3 characters for dirt.
