i think the show is deliberately very raw and real because of its approach to coming-of-age, so the painfully awkward intimate parts not making you feel comfortable is completely okay! i'm personally not asexual but the drawn out self-discovery/intimacy scenes with (barely) underage students did make me feel weird. its definitely an approach to the genre that more closely emulates artistic films like Call Me By Your Name (which is R rated) and not BL or most LGBT tv shows for teenagers.
