In "Strong women Do Bong Soon" He was so crazy in love with the FL and showed it all to every one. In "Sound Track # 1" he was in love with the FL but did not tell her". Both are good dramas.
Thank you to those who defend this drama. I agree that the expression of "love" is not just kisses or hugs. Some cultures, and this drama was set in the time when expressive love in terms of kissing or hugging were perceived differently. Story aside, just to watch Park Hyung Sik performance is enough for me. I watched his dramas when he was a young lad, in different genre, he was good in all of them. He was so good in "What happens to my family". He was superb in "Hwarang" he could convey his emotions through his eyes and facial expressions. He was hilarious in "Strong woman Do Bong Soon", very manly and an action man in "Happiness" and a really cook guy in "Sound Track #1". Of course, he is awesome in this "Our blooming youth". My point is, just enjoy their performance, don't look for kissing scenes.
How is the fight scene and how strong is the protagonist in martial art?
The protagonists (Ping Ching and Ping Change) are very good in Martial arts. Ping Ching (Liu Hao Ran's character) is both clever, skilled in strategising and good with martial art.
Watching this for the 5th time and still enjoy it. I really like this drama. A tip to enjoy it is to not compare it with Nirvana in Fire season 1. They are two different shows.
I dropped this drama. This is not something I should waste my time on. It is a pity as it has a promising start. I hate dramas that make a character stupid to show that she/he is kind. Kindness and stupidity are two different things.
As a new fan of #DengLun, I watched all of dramas and shows (that have Eng sub). Although I enjoyed looking at his pretty face in Sweet Dreams and Ashes of Love, I think his best drama so far is #MrFighting. I watched it twice and still enjoy it. He is also very good in "With You", a series of short drama about people who worked to respond to COVID-19. #DengLun is in episodes 15 and 16. Looking at the list of variety shows, it's no wonder we did not see his new dramas in 2020. The guy is just too popular in variety shows. We miss him in dramas, but I think he is smart to branch out opportunities for different types of business. In show biz, popularity is usually short-live. Even some actors who won so many awards may not have any recent dramas. Getting into variety shows is a good way to establish networks and connections in that field. He is still on TV, just in a different role. The most clever thing of all is to set up a business out side the show biz - his hotpot restaurants. They are now three of them! Based on news on social media, his hotpot restaurants are very popular and make a lot of money. Good on him to start setting up sustainable and alternate income sources and not just relying on show biz.
#DengLun is so talented. He can act, sing, dance and so witty in variety shows. He is handsome beyond any description. His deep voice sounds really sexy. He does not have many series, but he has appeared in so many variety show. I wonder whether the shows give more pays. What I like the most is he does a lot of charitable work. Though he has been in many of series, only Mr. Fighting bring out his best. This series (Mr. Fighting) is really good. It won an award in an International film event in Korea.
I became a fan of Allen Ren after Under the Power so I was very much looking forward to this series. I have to say I am disappointed. The story line is not exciting, the plot is not consistent. The acting is worst. It is supposed to be a story about love, but there is not love expressed at all. The worst are between the characters of Allen Ren and Zhang Hui Wen - their love is not convincing. There is no romantic scene, in fact, there is nothing that shows love. I am not talking about love scenes here, but your acting needs to convey the meaning of love.
I enjoy reading all the comments. As one says "One man's trash is another man's treasure". People like different things. For me, I love this drama. I have watched many c drama - all those that were popular, those that received award, those with famous actors, such as Three lives, three world - ten miles of peach blossoms, Nirvana in fire 1 and 2, Joy of life, the Untamed, Handsome siblings. Every drama with Xing Zhaolin, Mark Chao, Zhang Ruoyun, Hu Ge - I have watched them all. The only dramas that I watched more than 3 times are Ten miles of peach blossom (I love Mark Chao in this drama), Joy of Life (love Zhang Ruoyun too) and this Under the Power (yes, I now love Allen Ren). Yes, there are many flaws, but so do other series. Some people are annoyed by the female lead character (Jin Xia), I actually love her. Come on! there are so many dramas that female characters are nothing more than a decoration piece. Yuan Jin Xia actually has guts, smart, funny and resourceful. I love the chemistry between Lu Yi and Jin Xia. The story is fund, not too sad, not too much jealousy. Overall, not too much negativity. Even the villain - Yan Shi Fan is so handsome! Thumps up for Han Dong here. So I enjoy this series. After a hard day of work, I watch episode 8, watching Jin Xia eating the snacks gluttonously while Lu Yi looks on annoyingly and lovingly. For a long time, I have not been able to decide which Chinese male actor is the most handsome, until I found Lu Yi. Lu Yi is even more handsome than Ren Jialun!
Just finished watching 6 episodes straight. Not the best series I have seen, but it is not so terrible. I agree with those who commented on poor editing. The theme and plot are good, but the telling of the story is not. At the end, it does not give a conclusion about that happen to all the people of Dragon Howl City? The Nalan's families? The most disappointing of all is the lack of romance between the two male and female leads. It is a love story, but no love has been expressed. Their love is not convincing, no affection, no chemistry between them. I know Allen Ren is married, but hey, this is your job! A little bit of love scenes will not kill you. I think most actors are fine, except the Zhang Hui Wen. Her look is like a dead fish - no emotions. She is not able to convey emotions or messages through expression. Even the ones that play Rong Su or Liu Li are doing better job. The only convincing is when she cried for the dead of her father. I like Allen Ren in Under the Power and rewatched the series several times. I don't think I can endure this one the second time.
This is a great series. Its a pity that there is no Eng sub. It could have been watched more and better know to international audience. It was aired in my country and got translated to my language so I got to watch it. I think if a lot of people request websites that show C drama, e.g. Dramacool or Dramanice , for this series with Eng sub, they may consider it.
