The complaints about the lack of romance here reminded me of how I put off watching The Double and The Princess Royal for the same reason, only to end up watching them and realizing I was missing out.

I’m a romance girl through and through, so reading the comments had me thinking the romance in this series was so bland that I’d eventually drop it. But noooo, I’m on episode 31 and I’m actually enjoying the romance?? 😭 Like, am I watching a completely different series? It’s a slow burn, but the romance is definitely THERE. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for MLs who simp hard and fall even harder. And okay, yes, I admit he’s manipulative HAHAHAHA, but I can’t help it.

The 5 year no-contact was unnecessary.

Started out really good until they had to separate and then everything felt rushed.

Is it still worth watching? Yes

Okay, I’m only on Episode 1, but WRC was really convincing, he could switch between a gentle, kind persona and a darker, more sinister side.

Out of all the historical drama’s I’ve watched, I think this is the only one where I’ve seen the ML kiss the FL in the palanquin during the procession lol.

Just halfway through ep 27 😭 I love how this episode is both heartbreaking and festive at the same time.

Let me start by saying that I don’t have much background on Winwin, and the only other drama I’ve seen him in was Perfect Match, but he’s doing such a great job here! The scene where he’s bursting with anger was especially impressive, you could really feel the intensity and emotion in his performance.

I came from perfect match before watching this & I thought the same, he’s playing a similar character lol

When I saw this scene in the trailer I thought it was CYY turns out it was JY lol.

Appreciate the comparison & context. I do agree though, we may be the minority but the chemistry isn’t just there yet. IMHO she has more chemistry than YX at this point but I’m looking forward to see how our main CP grows romantically.

And he even married into the family like PoJ hahaha

After watching this CHY redeemed himself for me, hahaha he kind of became like the clingy Pei Wenxuan hahaha I’m all for it!

OMG that is true. I had high expectations but got let down. I don’t understand the high ratings for FF

It took me two year lol but I gave in and enjoyed this so much!!!
