This was REALLY good. I usually don't do these soap opery type dramas, but the short length revenge dramas that China has been releasing lately has been like crack to me!
Right so, this drama was dark, next level dark that I love, but only get with those psychological J-dramas. There's lies, deception, murder, infanticide, betrayal, you name it. The male lead was a down right asshole and he stuck with that to the bitter end, even though he was so obsessively in love with female lead.
Female lead was living through her version of 50 First Dates. She is what I would call a strong female lead, even though she got annoying sometimes going over to the enemy's side. To be fair she didn't know, but still.
The romance was HOT even if it was toxic as hell. These two should've never gotten together, but when they were sweet with each other, it was the most fiery passion that you don't really see in most C-dramas. I've also come to realize that with the Republican Era genre, the romance seems to be more spicier than the usual modern day rom coms. I would love to see these leads in another drama with this same type of setting.
If you've been following Maid's/Bride's Revenge, we've already established who's the real bad guy by episode 2. The story was fast paced and easy to follow.
Now onto the ending. It wasn't explained well, but my interpretation was that maybe Cheng Ming got to them, they survived, lost their memories and got them back when they saw each other again. With FL's luck, I'm sure that was the case.
LOL, I'm loving these short series. They're ridiculous, but they suck you in! LOL at the best friend. He laid in wait for FIVE YEARS!!!! Talk about holding a grudge. I need one of those brooches too.
This was a good one. It was fun! Loved that kid.
For a fashion designer, female lead's taste in clothes were atrocious.
Man this was great!!! But eff that ending to hell and back. But the male lead is SO FREAKING GORGEOUS. LIKE, HOW IS SOMEONE THAT PRETTY, HUMAN?!!! You can really tell who God's favorites are.
Got excited and looked up the manga to read it before this comes out. The manga has a "Tragedy" tag =( might skip…
There is no tragedy or sad ending actually. The tragedy was just that one of the leads almost died. Kinda like The Eighth Sense, if you've seen that one.
It wasn't terrible, but it still felt like it was missing something. I liked the actor playing Ha Ram. He was as cute as a button. He was aggressive with his pursuit, but he was harmless, just annoyingly clingy. Didn't like the actor that played the other guy. He just felt awkward most of the time.
Their grand finale kiss at the end, I found it annoying for some reason. They had better kisses during the show.
All in all, it was cute, just really fast paced, but was still missing a little kick to bring it all together.
Love it! Love THEM!! This was so much fun to watch. Cher is nuts. Would've been a full 10 if Gun didn't give up his big condo for Cher's little apartment because what the hell!?? 🤣😂
