I love the message of the story that giving up your dreams isn't the end of your life. Also, the realistic message that only hard work won't always get you whatever you want.

Coffee Prince is from 2007 and the male lead struggles with with his sexuality - and he actually doesn't care at the end wheter he is gay or bi or whatever, he goes and deliver us THE BEST ALIEN KISS ever 2. Have you watched The Princess Man (2010/2011)? There is one non gender conforming character in there and it is aproached very naturally (this drama made me cry so much btw)
