It would be a dream to see Wang Hao Xuan as Yan Wushi, I think Hao Xuan has a sexy villain vibe and would be interesting in that role and he is very charismatic too. I only started to understand that Feng Wu belonged to the modern era after watching the drama for the second time and I paid a lot of attention to the details. A lot of Chinese culture is new to me too lol I hope it has a second season, although I don't think it will. But a story for a new season they would have, because the Dance of the Phoenix novel is not yet finished (I'm reading) so we don't have an ending.

I would also like to know the reason. There are actually many many clues in the drama that point to her being from the modern day, but some of it would have been lost in translation for a non-native Chinese speaker, which would make this ending more frustrating than if one had been following certain clues throughout the series. Here are just a few: - when she sews the smiley face on Jun Linyuan's clothes in the ice forest, that symbol in an emoji - stories of Wu Song from the Water Margin she tell Master Ba, no one else knew these stories even though they are classics in Chinese literature - when she writes that the Emperor is like Liu Bei in the birthday wishes and the Emperor asks "Who is Liu Bei" (from Romance of the Three Kingdoms) - when the three boys first try the Phoenix Tea that she makes and Qiu Ling says, “That’s nothing, my lady can also make…” then proceeds to name different types of modern day bubble tea. - when she does acupuncture on Jun LinYuan and says "Don't tell me he's just a male Lin Daiyu!" (referring to the female lead in Dream of the Red Chamber) - when she mutters that Jun Linyuan is surely not as desirable the flesh of the Tang monk (referring to Tripytaka from Journey to the West) and everyone else thinks that it’s the name of some dish - during the first round of challenges at Peerless Tower, the poet wanted to hear new and fresh ideas in the form of verses, and she surprises him with lines describing modern mathematical concepts: calculus, geometry and trigonometry. He's intrigued by them. - when she makes the bet with Mu Yao that Mu Yao has to call her “Baba” if she loses. No one else knows the significance of “Baba” since that is Western influence (from the word Papa). It’s basically her version of saying to Mu Yao, “Who’s your Daddy?” - the flip book she draws for Jun Linyuan is based on the modern concept of animation and no one else had seen in then. - making Jun Linyuan make a wish and blowing out a candle on his birthday, cake and candle are both obviously a foreign concept for people in that word. - when Zhao Ge tries to make amends after saying mean things to her, she makes Feng Wu's favourite comfort food for her, which is based on modern day "instant noodles" -when the little blue bird explains the significance of Mu Jiuzhou transferring his phoenix blood to her and she interprets the phoenix blood as being a “key component” (modern day tech jargon) of her teacher and the bird looks puzzled, not understanding the term.
At the very beginning when I came to check the drama here on MDL, they said it would have 50 episodes, but then it was reduced to 30. Is it because of budget?

According to the synopsis the girl who ended up in the body of Feng Wu is called Meng Yuan and one fateful day she ends up in the body of the real Feng Wu after she was killed by the goddess Zuo. The master of Feng Wu (real) donates all his spiritual energy to save Meng Yuan and because of that he falls into a coma, so her mission is to bring him back because only he can restore the spiritual barrier that was destroyed after the disappearance of him and after awakening him, she must return to the place from which she came. At one point in the drama, the Little Phoenix told her that she should go back to her time because she didn't know what kind of reaction the body she was in would have, because her soul doesn't belong in that period. In many moments of the drama they reinforced this idea that she would have to leave. I don't know if my explanation was good, but any questions, I am available to talk. I hope the drama has a second season ❤️
The battles between the academies in episodes 36-37 are breathtaking. I loved Dai Mu Bai's fight with Zhu Zhu Qing (I shipp) to kick his unbearable brother's ass.
I have a big crush on Xiao Gang (master of Tang San), he is one of my favorite characters from the drama ❤️ I love his intelligence and personality, besides that he is beautiful ❤️
Episode 28 made me cry. I couldn't hold back the tears when Tang San's mother talks to him and tells the whole truth. It was a very emotional scene and Xiao Zhan was incredible in acting.
I haven't recovered from episode 27 yet, I'm sad that Xiao Wu has lost all of his spiritual rings and possibly become an ordinary person who can never be a spiritual master :( But she lost the rings to help and protect Tang San. It's beautiful how she and Tang San take care and take risks to protect each other.
The episode 24-25 was incredible, I was very excited to see the confrontation between Shi Lan Ke and the demonic team. The drama has been very exciting to watch and I believe it will become one of my favorites.
