Update: I kept watching and I still don’t really like that scene, but the drama itself is pretty good. It features one of the nicest MLs I’ve ever seen+ no real love triangles. If you have any similar drama recommendations please tell me, I’m so sick of awful first and second male leads that objectify and are mean to the person they supposedly love.

I tot that was an ironic reference to FL, and maybe hint that ML might be aware much earlier that FL is not a…
huh... ok, thank you for the explanation :))

I started watching this, but the first episode seems verrrrrrry transphobic. Have I misunderstood something or is everyone else just turning a blind eye to that scene? I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with having a rapist that dresses like a woman, but the phrase of “You’ll never be a woman, no matter how perfect your disguise” is concerning to say the least.

almost everyone in the cast praised Tao for her performance in this show. Kento, Dori, Machida etc lol
Idk if her acting was horrible, but I think compared to the more over-the-top stuff we saw from other actors she seemed kind of bland. I loved the way her backstory was done though. The actress fit in better with those peaceful mountain scenes than the gory ones. I think that softness might have been ok in a side character, but she’s supposed to be the FL, and I’m starting to feel like she exists only to take care of Arisu.

A lot of people are saying they love the ML and hate the FL, and I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve watched up to ep23 and have yet to find a redeeming quality in the FL. Sure, it’s nice that she’s kind and naive, but she has no critical thinking skills whatsoever. How did she manage to lead her tribe so far if she can’t think ahead or rationally approach issues? I agree that the casting of the ML wasn’t 10/10, but compared to how much the FL annoyed me, that wasn’t even a real issue. Overall, I actually thought that the characters were quite relatable (this is the first time that I could understand the characters’ “philosophical” monologues), and I liked that the main characters (except for the FL, I guess) weren’t perfectly virtuous.

Title Lost Romance Spoiler
ep 11. I know the sister is the villain but I really feel bad for her. Her family really is sexist.
Honestly I thought she'd end up with the bodyguard, but I really like that her ending was about improving herself. The conversation she had with the mom was really nice too. I feel like a lot of her negative character traits were due to the sexism she faced, not due to some intrinsic fault, so I'm sure that finally being able to discuss it was helpful to the overall "mission".

I would say the romance of the tiger and rose might fall under the category of a cute male lead and a smart female…
Keep going, their relationship changes as the show progresses.
