What? Book fans complaining the drama is different?? They followed exactly as the book (with some merged scenes)! Must be a complete haters to pretend as book fans then!

Having read the book I thought I am prepared for the scenes happening in 15-16 but turns out I'm not. Sobbing mess right now. This is truly a great adaptation so far ;;___;;

Can I just highlight Xu Kai's acting when he is just an empty shell after he lost Shanggu like how it really pulled on my heart when the scene first shown him as Zhiyang entered his hall. This acting will definitely put a lot sense in the upcoming events ;;__;; I've only seen him in The Legends but dang he really portrays Bai Jue well... thank you ;__;

Yes they will reunite in the most beautiful heartbreaking ways ;__;

I think if they start with the book it would be harder to understand. Because some of the characters like Yuemi, Hong-ri and Gu Jun are hidden key characters that play important role and in the book its more like they were completing the task kind of appearance so giving the full arc to their character with these early episodes made their roles in the 2nd half more impactful.

The plot twist is insane that I was caught off guard. The drama did a good job in emphasizing it already *___*

They are still higher because their power is much more stronger than the Emperor and Empress as well as the absolute noble born but because they sacrificed themselves to stop the tribulation of chaos where they are all gone, the emperor and empress who is second highest was elected to be the next ruler.

The starting line of the novel is Houchi and Qingmu searching for the truth about the origin of their bracelet which led them to uncover more secret about what happened 60,000 years ago, everyone thought that the tribulation of chaos is gone but that is not the case.

Due to work I am late in catching up to all episodes but now I am done with all 14 episodes. I'm impressed *__*

I didn't expect the drama to start from before the novel start so I was confused a little bit, to be honest I was a little bit tentative when watching the first few episodes because Shanggu is not what I imagine.. but after flipping through the final chapter of the book again, this is exactly Shanggu! I felt like Zhou Dongyu and Xu Kai honest portrayal of their character is giving the drama a unique vibe. Another thing I love is the full arc character appearance of Zhiyang, Tianqi and Yuemi! They were so briefly mention in the novel especislly Zhiyang and Yuemi. My hearts breaks when Yuemi is gone but kind of nostalgic and trippy when the drama did make her statue just like in novel, I like how the drama shows how her statue came to be as it plays a significant role for the ending. Now I can't sleep waiting for more episodes update!

There are too version, Bai Jue died after Shang-gu stabbed him but one ending version had Shang-gu stabbed him and then when she found out the truth it was too late but another version ending had Shang-gu begs Gu Jun to resurrect Bai Jue and he did came back ending the novel with famous quote "Hello Ancient, I'm Bai Jue"

The way the plot was written leading up to the sad ending is extremely well written to the point of I'm gasping and tears just come(I'm a sensitive person XD) so yeah I agree with you I hope the drama is able to adapt this well, Xu Kai has a huge responsibility to deliver that ending well but I've seen his acting and I have confidence that he can, Zhou Dongyu there is no words needed that I'm sure she can do it well. It all depends on the scriptwriter and director with good timing music.

Nope Sad ending, I bawl my eyes out when I reached the plot twist and realized what is happening, it was so meticulously written that it have great impacts to readers despite the sad ending I hope they can deliver the emotions it envoked. But I also I read that the author changed the ending to happy ending upon requirement from the NRTA though. ^^

I just finished reading the novel and man I can't wait to see how well they can adapt this beautifully written story.

Yeah Fu rou got some screen time eventhough most of it is just her waiting around people and randomly solving problems but how can there be relationship growth when both were written as being apart from each other most of the time.

Exactly, what sensitive issue that is not worse than ehat King Liang did that they deleted his scenes so much and i actually wouldn't mind much if Chumu didn't appear much even of he is the main character if the whole plot is intact but it is currently disjointed and made his absence the more obvious.

I was trying to be natural actually? Hahaha and Exactly! you might as well send him to war and die and the drama can still go on without problem LMAO(it's sad actually) I saw on twitter that Xu Kai has been appearing average 1minute per episode max since episode 15(!!) and some episode he didn't even appear at all but the iqiyi time stamp shows he appeared 1:30min when he didn't appear at all and apparently they counted his appearance in the opening and ending credit hahahaha and there is some 20+ episodes left now to think Xu Kai film this drama for 6 months. Lu Yunji and his son might as well be the main leads now as the storyline surrounding their family is very well elaborated LOL

It is kind of misleading when all the promotions are putting Xu Kai and Li Yitong doing everything and they don't even appear in the drama much

This drama has won 2 most anticipated awards already.

I can't wait to watch it. I am excited after watching the trailer
