The story is 2011-2013. Not maybe shown but subtle cultural influences and mindset is thill there when it comes to patriarchy. Have you seen the dramaa and understand nuances? Despite NXG mom being successful and technically one of the founders of their company her achievements are still not being taken into account. Why? Becuase she is a woman. Equal rights should be given but the harsh reality is the society still look at women as weak individuals. I am a guy myself and I am seeing that almost all of the time(I am living in a very patriarchal society). I hate it to be honest. I can't even laught at jokes objectifying women. But that's the reality and we are still fighting for that equality. This novel has been created based on societal norms chinese culture. Despite being fiction the influence of real life scenarios are very evident here
