Your analysis is 💖 I agree they both had curiosity somehow as the defining factor of their sex scene. At this point we are not sure of their feelings of love, both are intrigued. Vegas found someone interesting who defies him and this person even accepts his real persona. While Pete must be on a rollercoaster of feelings, discovering in himself pleasures and sensations he probably has never dreamed of. Because of that I think they are perfect for each otheral and although expecting more I loved every second of their scene. I also think it is their safe zone. What comes after that is what really appeals to me, letting the curiosity aside how are they going to feel? When Pete smiled at the end of their scene I was insane bc I can never read him, he is never obvious. I LOVE this Pete. I think next ep we will have vulnerable Vegas all the way and that somehow his father might affect his reasoning and make him hurt Pete? Or have to let him go? Or maybe Kan will threaten both of them? And suffer. I guess the series is going to a directon where no matter how they will be sad if apart. And I love that! Next ep Pete will leave... Everybody is gpinv to suffer imo. 😭
I also loved how consent was used here to show Vegas may also see Pete in a special light, as you said rivals/or ppl at the same range becoming lovers... And when he said 'its no good if youre not willing' I screamed!
I havent seen the scene where Pete escapes like you did. At first I was upset bc I hated them repeating the plot and Vegas being this careless, it was too out of character for me. Reading some comments later I realized Vegas might have done this on purpose or had been slightly aware Pete could leave. That made me like more the fact that Pete came back... Seeing Vegas like that I would come back too... You can see here that this is Pete. He is this caring and empathic he had the chance to go but something forced him to stay( I lowkey disliked the SS associated with this route, but I made peace with it).
I havent considerred Pete wanting to leave due to duty issues... Him jealous would br a good trigger like in the novel, duty and any allusion to the tattoo would be good too.. I can only imagine Kan will have smth to do with it tho. Im super curious to meet this Peteless Vegas... Will he go beserk, or will he be broken, even more broken?

I cant hate the scene tho (my it meant the music), I mean song aside, editing shows they had more material and I want that, but I liked every minute of it. Mixed feelings everyhwere... Damn when it comes to VP I cant express myself properly.

It is interesting how many pf us got mixed feelings about their scene and this ep... And been reanalising it over and over... I decided I have mixed feelings about it and that it is OK. I myself would rewrite my reaction... I like to think Vegas left the key there on purpose and wasnt expecting Pete to came back. I think similarly to you when it comes to Vegas falling and Pete trying to sort out his feelings. Great pov, thanks for sharing.
