I came here to state my theory is the same as most people have already guessed.:
He is the old man himself. That explain the old man in mirrors. Period.
He has unresolved knots that only his dementia could fix. Like Win, who must have been a scar in his life who he couldn't embrace, so he made him alive and thats why Win as we know is someone who is dead and others can't see.
Also all the things he sees, is just his memories coming to haunt him, the old times, and all.
this is actually extremely good, well acted and written. And it has a strong plot for a series that feels general, but it has a coherent story and a purpose.
That's what I was wondering too! Why can't they just say Harvard? lol
Mostly Chinese series and films do not not use real names of educational institutes to avoid any kind of liability and association to the real world. Almost 95% of the series, do not mention real universities name or schools for the matter.
Almost 50% of the series do not mention real cities, settings or places, even for mainland China or oversees, to avoid any kind of uproar and to pass the censorship quickly as fictions gets a free pass quicker then use a real time setting for which NTRA usually inspect and check and verify.
Series like these where the settings are in Beijing and Shanghai mentions laws correctly to glorify their image as part of propaganda.
This. It's only 28 episodes so what's with all the filler content????
actually nothing...just interactions and interaction, meeting at ballet academy, art gallery, wine and concert literally this nothing else...coming espisoded are also like this...action might be from 20 onwards...she is laid back even after finding out about her son...I don't know why she thinks her son with his father who has money is more rightful then her...her friend and that bicth planted a seed that she can't give his son a life that they are giving...so she is kinda slow...don't know when she will fight for her child or simp Ml will get to know that her mother is the one that created misunderstanding...
p’Nuchy never disappoints. This is my first time seeing Dew act… and honestly, I’m not impressed. The visuals are there, yes, but the acting is not that great. I’m used to watching Gun—he was already a legend 17 years ago when I first saw him, and he’s still a legend now.
Off has come such a long way, both in his acting and in his body transformation. Surviving on fish and tiny portions of food… I know that pain. I know it very well. But it’s worth it. Look at how it turned out. I don’t know if he did it specifically for the role to make it more impactful, or if he did it for himself—but either way, it paid off. I followed the same path, and I understand exactly what it takes.
Its a good watch, it is not novel or unprecedented, but it has p'Nuchy style and it stands out.
asshole mother sided with his fucked up relative who tried to harm a girl and put blame on someone else...adn ruined innocent life...fuck such people, and if i were in TV I would drag that old hog ass and throw her downstair, even if I have to end in jail...FL is strong, she shuts ML when he asked her to understand her mother's anger...fuck you you simp of a man.
One thing is for sure he shouldn't have lied about dating...I am sure he is not responsible for her downfall, but when things got messy, he should have helped her...this of course is my assumption, but still he should have stood by her...
her DUI should have been handled with proper care and more leniency. She was shunned and shoved for a mistake that could have been easily forgiven. But I am sure it wasn't just DUI, there is always a trail of misfortune before the final exit.
Much bigger criminal and rapist roam free in Korea, and yet here we lynched and sentenced one girl to death for something where people could have helped her...
We killed her as much as he or anybody else did.
But her suicide on his birthday will forever hunt him, I feel bad for him as well as feel nothing.
and same as Beacuse of Love. But it was FL who hid the child and grandfather was the villain. it was also Wallace…
it is way early on, but to have theior happy endng, FL faked that she is married so the ML is reserved towards her and one by one truth reveals and they ge to have happy ending slowly, as they are in their 40s so it is not that romance, but a romance through child...so it is mature drama not like this one but story is same.
and same as Beacuse of Love. But it was FL who hid the child and grandfather was the villain. it was also Wallace…
that was indeed melodrama, as the mother had to bring the child back to cure his illness and needed money but grandfather conditioned her to give them grandchild to be the heir of his empire and he will pay hospital bills. and ML though all his life that she was selfish, and took money from his grandfather and left him, didn't knew that his grandfather made her life miserable and throw her out when she was pregnenet.
Do Chinese people love her or not cause in rednote in most of her videos like in awards shows red carpet and all…
ZDY is not typical actress, she doesn't like to appear on shows and other areas outside of her work- the fake public labeled her "for not fitting standard Chinese beauty ideals".
Comments like:
“too thin,” “too small,” “not traditional beauty,” “not idol-like,” “quirky face,” are extremely common on Weibo, Douban, and Chinese forums. So yes , her appearance being “unconventional” is a famous and constant debate.
She is known for very blunt and do not sugarcoat, or speak cute, act cute or go along with the type public wants the CN actresses or actors to be. This is also a publicly recognized trait.
Plus she is known as director's darling, all critically acclaimed director go for her if they really looking for some great acting, adn public do not like dramas or movies, her movies and dramas are not teen-idol romance, love triangles, or others, so public do not like it.
She is widely labelled as “not idol material”. Other actresses fit the “idol aesthetic”: elegant, glamorous, sweet, tall. ZDY intentionally does not.
Even Chinese media often calls her:
“草根风格” (grassroots style)
“没有偶像包袱” (no idol baggage)
“不在意形象” (doesn’t care about image)
This is a very well-known part of her public identity.
This is probably the MOST famous thing about her. People say:
“影后命,路人缘差” (Queen of movies, weak public favorability)
“影坛认可,路人不买账” (Film industry recognizes her, public doesn’t accept her freely)
This contradiction is a very well-known part of how ZDY is viewed in China.

FL: "this time i will not let go. I will use my mother power"
Girl, you will go soft the ML mother is a cunt and bitch whore. She has been and will not change!
