First episode split in two so I guess that's 32 episodes?
As per new Korean broadcast rules, channels can not air 1 hour episode. As commercials and adds should be aired after 30 minutes. So they split the 1:15 episode into 35 minutes of 2 episodes per day to allow commercials and then they air 2nd episode after 5 minutes.
Yes, all Korean dramas, are 32 (or 24) episodes during broadcast, while on streaming and for international viewers, total 16 (or 12)
Bang! bang! bang! So Joo Won wasn't lying when he cried in a conference saying that Kim Hee Sun is amazing in the drama and damn he was right. She nailed the first episode with her acting. So far looking good, visual effects is also no joke. Looking for second episode!!!
After today's episode I think It's pretty clear that Hyun Soo is slowly realizing losing Ji Won is what scares…
Yup. the kitchen scene, my god, she is heartbroken to the core. Knowing that her husband she loved more than herself, hasn't loved her for a single second in past 7 years. She is on verge of breaking. And she told him that she is sick of loving him and will breakup with him. think this is the only way she can leave him first before the truth is revealed.
Even though it is his fault for not coming clean to his wife, I don't blame him fully. She persuaded him, when he wasn't ready. She lingers on him and he gives up, hoping that being with her might lessen his daemons. This was the only effect on him of her. All other aspects of his life remained same. And his wife failed to notice (don't blame her she was head over heels with him).
Given what he has been thorough is just not a trauma, but left him paralysed from feeling anything. He wasn't healed, so how come she could cure him? It wasn't possible.
Now that he will finally receive closure to his past he will become normal. Actually he is already on its way to recovery it just one last nail in coffin.
I just hope they gets face to face confrontation and BHS realises, he loved her all along. I hope he can feel things, as I am sure he does, but his brain doesn't allow him to think otherwise.
The drama is so fast paced, yet it feels there is so much to be revealed given that only 8 episodes and wife knows all. And that is thanks to great writing.
His eyes at the end of ep. 8 had a pure evil smirk.
I think it is for everyone. But then again... yeah I mean.
I remember, when I watched this, I never wanted it to end. I fell in love with Jung and Son again, I got to know the puppy face of Jung, and couldn't believe he is way older than he looks.
I ended up stalking him and watched One Spring Night and all other videos and contents of him but couldn't watch TV series as he hasn't had any lead role to shine, but SITR and OSN blew me away with his acting skills. He is such a talented actor of his generation, too bad that A Piece of Your Mind, couldn't work in his favor because of bad writing.
Anyway, his performance in SITR is the man reason I glued to screen, as I had no question on Son acting skills, been fan of her since ages, she is one exceptional actress, but Jung, was the real star.
There is this scene in SITR where, he listens to Jin confession while on his way back home on bike... and my god, his expression was culmination of his whole acting talent. I actually forgot it was an act, but his smile and teary eyes while listening to Jin voice mail - only people in real life could feel that kind of love. But his acting conveyed his happiness to viewers so realistically that I was in trans of his happiness.
I fully admit that series had it flaws, but it was realistic to the core. As much as I was annoyed by her amma, and how she should have ask for forgiveness to siblings as well, after admitting she was wrong, I still understand why she did, what she did. As this is a Korean taboo, for not wedding your child in a well off family makes people talk. And those brother sister had nothing and this was nobody fault.
But ending swept away everything, he realised that he can not live without her, so he went all the way to her and "something happened in rain".
It was one of the most beautiful K-drama, with the best soundtrack of any Korean TV series. It is on my Spotify list and play it everyday, Carla song "Stand By Your Man" was once again echoed and it suited perfectly. Also, Bruce Willis long gone singing days, reminds me how well he once sang, his 1989 version of "Save the Last Dance" is one nostalgic single for me.
Recommendations: If you like this then I am sure you ill like:
1) The Light in Your Eyes - no words for this tv series, one of its kind. 2) My Mister - absolutely second to none.
People who forget to list "OLDBOY" in their top 10 list of Asian films and TV are committing a crime. Please list it in top 10! For me it is no 1 all time!!! Period.
I'm a bit late to the party, just finished ep 4. But I do have a question.Do we ship main leads? Do we want them…
We have to consider all the trauma of ML. As he was hiding from his past living a lie that shuns everything and everyone for him, untill she comes shaking his world upside down.He wasn't ready to ocme back to life and her persuation and sweet stalking made him beleive in love. And she never questions him about his life as she knew he had difficult life, she was over the moon to get a man she loves more than herself. And after all these years how do you expect him to tell her that, her father was a serial killer, his identity is of someone elses, his sister is a killer, he is taking a fall for someone else or his adoptove parents are one nail in coffin? How do you expect him to comeout of it normally. His marriage was the only normal thing in his life that gave him some comfort. And he does love her dearly. And she loves her too much that she is trying to prove hard that he is not bad guy. Which she will, but yes she will be more heartbroken with each episode that even the love she gave him wasn't enough for him to trust her, but she will understand and there are million reasons for it as well. So ML lyings sure are at fault and that is coming for him when she is going to confront her. But thats it, given what he went through... Nothing else matters.
This is by far the best drama of 2020 after The World of Married, but it is even greater than that.Epsiode after episode, all cracks are coming to the lies for a greater confrontation between husband and wife.Gosh the pain his wife is enduring knowing the truth now, and pretending to be clueless infront of him is the hardest act one can put. The bed scene in epaiode 7 was so poignant that a tear from her eyes made it so harder to watch.I was right from the beginning that he can not be a bad guy, and I was absolutely right. Imagine going through trauma, child of serial killer made to assume someone else identity, taking the fall for someone else wrong doings and shunning the world for himself, is the most cruel thing to be done to a person. She opened a new world for him, and he started living knowing fullly that past will haunt him if he starts living again. .. But love indeed can save lives. And it did, and it will also in the end as well. The wife is wise, because she is the one who made him live, she is the one who loved him larger than life and more than she loves herself. So I am hopeful. If this drama doesn't have happy ending. I am going to protest infront of tvN headquarters.
As expected the series offered nothing with its first episode.
Same good old innocent FL haunted by her mother memories, failing at job encounters poor SL, who becomes shoulder to cry on, circles around her, helps her only to be sidelined by ML. I am already feeling extremely sorry for Ji Soo, whose character is going to be sad one, as always. And then there is female ex, her face is enough to tell that she is cunning, devious and one tortuous character.
The acting wise is going to be amazing, it was the only rating I could give 10 by 10. Others, I am not sure, as this the drama, whose story is told million times in different style in Korean television industry.
When on earth they will Ji-Soo a leading role and not a SL or whatever, he deserves more than this!!!

You can give it a try but dont expect too much
