I've really been enjoying this series & able to tolerate every little interruption and foiled plan until now.…
I agree, I have been enjoying the drama so far. But what happened towards the end of episode 19 appears to be such obvious filler that has nothing much to do with their relationship. Plot-wise, there seems to be no reason to derail their weekend date with such a random event and make it seem like something happened to her ... the only takeaway from that incident is that Shiyan gets easily stressed / worried over her but we already knew this.
Im not trying to be mean but feng weiran and his wife are kind of annoying sometimes with their comments about…
I don’t enjoy FWR and Yanan as much - seems they are there for comedic purposes - but to be fair barring the moment early on in the show where FWR dismissed Shiyan’s misgivings about Zhou Mo, neither of them are actually aware that they are giving Shiyan and Tang Yan advice about each other; they seem to really think this is just about some third party . For some reason, out of everyone around them, only Cheng Hui appears to have realized what is going on!
I feel like some of you are watching a completely different drama to me. The friends and family are excellent…
IKR, the pace is slow but I am quite enjoying it (except for that auntie with the plums in episode 17 omg) and glad for the absence of a lot of the usual romance / angst cliches here so far.
Also, seeing some of the comments on this drama and the focus on there being no kissing yet, I wonder if some are confusing a lack of skinship between JSY and TY for a lack of emotional development. Not saying I don’t want to see some kiss scenes from the promo trailers happen soon, but neither of them are looking for a casual fling from what we can tell. Just because they haven’t crossed the line of becoming physically intimate doesn’t mean there haven’t been a lot of subtle and some not so subtle changes in their relationship in the drama, especially in the last few episodes. They go from constantly claiming they are just friends as close as ‘family’ to each realizing internally that they aren’t satisfied with status quo and then coming to the mutual understanding (finally) that they both want to be more than friends.
They’re definitely starting on a romantic relationship at last instead of restricting themselves or worse, hiding behind that just friends label.
the lead couple have always many scene together since the first episode. ML and FL have the most screentime together.…
Yeah. This is one of the few cdramas where I am very satisfied with the main couple’s screentime. For sure there’s some scenes which come off as filler - a lot of the Sheng Nina sequences don’t further the main storyline much - but they are not as much as other dramas so far.
Are they going to kiss in the last episode 😖 they kill my excitement every time 😒
Well there is a lot of intimacy between them in the novel and I did see a few kissing scenes in the trailers. I don’t think it will take till the last episode.
Ahhh so they’ve finally both admitted that they want to be more but now I guess they’re kind of struggling…
I wish the writer hadn’t introduced a potential other love interest for Shiyan at this stage - the drama has been so pleasantly lighthearted so far without any of the usual love triangle / makjang romance tropes. But from the previews, it looks like Shiyan nips any misunderstandings in the bud quickly and Chang Xinyi is more of a device used by the writer to push Tang Yang and Shiyan closer. I hope it remains that way in the actual episodes.
Ahhh so they’ve finally both admitted that they want to be more but now I guess they’re kind of struggling with bridging that gap between being ‘bros’ and dating.
This is a light hearted and surprisingly angst free little show that’s a bit of a romcom and a bit of a slice of life. The pacing is a little slow but I like that the drama is gently exploring how the main characters wound up in the rut they’re in and how they are building towards the realization of how much they mean to each other (i.e. instead of having us believe that they fell in love with a sudden finger-snap after years of living in different cities). Sometimes so much can get unsaid and you can be too careless with those seemingly closest to you simply because you are too familiar with each other.
