I'm seeing quite a few people complaining about changes made to the original story, in the end we should be glad that we're even getting a second season since most of us had accepted that there wouldn't be one after all the drama. I know some people will hold the books dear to them but let's not criticise a show before it's even come out? For all we know it could still be good despite it's changes.
I'm giving Kengkla a chance to prove himself only on the basis that I would be kind of a hypocrite for not doing so since I gave Tharn and Type a chance in their show, I've seen a lot of people confess their liking for characters like Lhong and Tharn- both of whom committed things that could be considered equal to or worse than what Kengkla did. I'm not too fond of the TumTar story line but by law even where I live it's not illegal for them to be in a relationship, so for my love of Earth I'll watch them through.
I've also seen a few people complaining about Ae having a moderate role. I agree that this isn't his story but it does make sense that we would see him a decent amount since he was one of the main characters from the first show. It also makes sense because showing him dealing with Pete not being in the picture as well as some other people reacting to their (presumably out) relationship would further his character as well as giving other characters the chance to further themselves by either looking at his situation and doing something about their own or proving themselves to be good friends and confidants. I admit that I may be a bit biased since Perth is my favourite actor but I'm not going to complain about a previously main character having a decent amount of screen time, if it does start to get too much and detracts from other couples then I may have to agree that his time should have been cut down, for now though I'm fine with what we have.
