Absolutely insane to me that people are okay with it considering the horrifying consequences it has in basically…
I also don't support using AI when a production has the resources to do things properly without it. But you have your point of view, and I have mine

You're judging big and small productions by the same moral standard, treating them as good or bad simply because they use AI. There are many bad things that AI has brought with it, and I'm not ignoring that. But we also have to accept reality: AI exists and is already being improved, whether we like it or not. Fighting against it on the internet isn't going to change the fact that it exists or stop it from continuing to advance. That's why I think it's more important to discuss how it's being used and the circumstances surrounding its use, rather than automatically considering any production that uses AI to be bad or unethical.

This is a series about a post-apocalyptic zombie world. No one is going to want to watch a zombie series with bad visuals. In this case, the aesthetic matters a lot. They didn't replace the actors. AI was used to enhance the visuals. Personally, I would have a problem if they used AI and pretended they hadn't. But I don't think you can judge a small production by the same moral standards as a big studio, especially in the BL industry, where sponsorships and funding are scarce. As long as they aren't replacing the actors and are only using AI to enhance the series visually, I don't see a problem with it. And I think you're using the examples from five years ago without considering how expectations have changed. Those productions worked well precisely because they were made five years ago or more, when that was the standard and even visually simpler productions were more easily accepted. In 2026, expectations are different. People are used to increasingly polished productions and want something visually close to perfection. So, for a series whose concept depends so much on a post-apocalyptic aesthetic, I don't think it's unreasonable for them to use the tools they have to try to achieve that.

I agree with you on the broader problems with AI, especially the impact it can have on artists and actors. I just can't agree with the idea that using AI automatically means a show isn't worth supporting or that the people behind it aren't doing real work. I also don't think it's as simple as saying that if a show needs more than a small budget, then the original idea wasn't good enough. A good story can absolutely be made with very little money, but that doesn't mean production costs just disappear. Some things simply require more resources, especially filming, post-production, effects, sets, and so on. If AI is genuinely necessary for them to finish the project with the resources they have, then I don't see that as inherently bad. I'd rather look at the circumstances and how it's being used than dismiss the entire production just because AI is involved. Personally, I don't see that in the same way as a big production using AI simply to replace people or cut costs. I also don't think “they use AI, so there's nobody here worth supporting” is necessarily fair. There are still actors, writers, directors, and other people working behind the scenes. I can support those people and enjoy their work while still being critical of how much AI is being used.We can be uncomfortable with AI and still recognize that some smaller productions are working under very different circumstances. I think both things can be true at the same time.

AI usage is getting ridiculous and it's not even necessary for BL shows
This is a Chinese BL, and obviously it doesn’t have a big budget. Even Thai BLs struggle to get sponsors. They’re doing what they can with the little they have. If AI is necessary, then I don’t see it as a bad thing.

Really very, very childish, or for fans of bare chests, but still relaxing to watch, but 8.0 is an exaggeration,…
You gave Love Upon a Time a 5.0? And you want to talk about the MDL audience? Leave period dramas to the people who actually know how to appreciate them

Regardless of your prejudice, a relationship between two men or two women is still a relationship. Your homophobia will never erase the existence of these people or their relationships. The real mental disorder is the prejudice rooted in people's minds. I hope that one day you overcome your internalized homophobia

yi Chen never chose lufeng lufeng always chose yichen yichen is a coward and he kept dragging lufeng with him…
I agree with you. Yi Chen made Lu Feng suffer for being a coward and should not have gone after him, but just as Lu Feng is obsessed with Yi Chen, he is also emotionally dependent on Lu Feng. Yi Chen is not entirely responsible for Lu Feng being like that. After 4 years, Lu Feng forced Yi Chen into the office, while Yi Chen did not want to do that. The marriage aggravated Lu Feng's obsession. Their relationship is very complicated to understand. I really wanted to see them as before, but I don't particularly see love in it anymore, just emotional dependence and obsession. Everything would have been so different if Yi Chen had chosen Lu Feng over his mother's wishes 🥺

STUPID COMMENT. sorry
How can this be a stupid comment? Lu Feng destroyed Yi Chen. Look at Yi Chen, he thrown into bed, suffering and looking vague after being so abused by Lu Feng.

Title Double Helix Spoiler
I am shocked by episode 9. How are people on Lu Feng's side? Yi Chen was wrong to give priority to the desire of the mother who was on the verge of death instead of thinking more about himself. But that never gives Lu Feng the freedom to do what he did. There were several crimes, I get sick when I remember. I hope that they end up alone each with their lives. Yi Chen always loved Lu Feng but Lu Feng never loved him, it was always the obsession of having him, he himself admitted this in episode 10. Worrying people still defend Lu Feng
