Why did ep 28 make it clear for you?
The structure of characters and ML are different from the typical dramas. The main story revolves around CX and XY. CX is the ML and Jing is the ML2 and XL is ML3. Yes, Jing is the love interest but she loves all of them differently. I've seen this type of setup before in Thai dramas where FL doesn't end up with ML but he ended up with FL2. The main focus was the FL and her story.
