Just watched 42, and it was so good, seeing all the characters grow in such a way is very nice for me. IS may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I feel this has somehow that slice of life style, deep relationships that may have misunderstandings but are still full of friendship, love, and support. This drama has got it all in terms of everything I like to see, even the pace that many find slow, I find it just right, responsibility, power, jealousy, bickering, friendship, iconic funny, and heartbreaking scenes, and much more. Got sentimental out of nowhere, but anyway I really appreciate this drama.

The main barrier between them is not YM at all, it's not like TZ thinks in any way that YD likes YM or even sees him as competition, YM also gives them space, treats TZ nicely, and doesn't force his feeling on YD. And just think about it, if YD didn't stay with YM and his friends, it'll be even harder for YD and TZ to meet. The real barrier is themselves, all that they've gone through in the mortal realm is to prepare both of them to be together, to understand more about each other, in terms of their relationship TZ got his growth today and YD will too. YD was clearly extremely down and sad during these episodes due to YY/TZ, the distance they're having in just one episode is to give YD space, she needs it.

This episode is just trying to show the line that YD is putting between her and YY/TZ, and it was indeed pretty heartbreaking to see our little boy all alone seeing from a far YD, YM, and their friends having a good time without him.
TZ is pointing his sword towards YD. The love of her life was one more time choosing what was supposedly righteous over her. Then with her heart broken into one thousand pieces and full of disappointment, she says "Taoist Tang, I've already told you not to promise what you can't deliver" She closes her eyes and prepares a spell to defend herself from the sword of the man she once gave her heart. Suddenly, the chains that were trapping her are broken. She opens her eyes in surprise and sees TZ standing in front of her with his sword lowered. TZ looks at her and says "I thought this magical bracelet could constrain me. But it turns out that the bracelet breaks when I'm overwhelmed with affection. Feeling grow from within and my desire won't stop if my heart is alive." and this sentence alone represents the character growth we were looking forward to for him and YY, when he recovers his memories, I'm sure he'll no longer let YD go.
