There will be opinion clashes even for the novel readers,but imo,so far they've adapted it very well.They even put the same main leads though in the novel both of them had reincarnated with different face and voices and only with the same name.A chem professor who lack experience both in love llife and business and was devoted in his research more than half of his life but with an Iq of 190 will definitely have some aberrant side in him which RJL has portrayed it very well and this is a fresh role in c dramaland morever he respected shiyi more than in the novel which is a plus point

ZSC of the past and present has the same core of beautiful bone but they have different life experience hence,their way of life and personality will differ.
A general who had witnessed death and stayed in the battlefield his whole life and a chem proff in the lab will obviously have different temperament.

The story will be full of sweetness but we definitely have to be prepared for the angst.And regarding the family plot,i find it annoying too even in the novel but i think it's necessary to enrich the plotline of the drama. Only 1/3 of the drama has been aired so let's be patient and see how it goes😊

Yes it's wenchuan's baby...wenxing..she is a little complex. She did bad things but not with bad intention.She pushed down shiyi from a boat and shiyi was in coma(but it was wenxing that save shiyi from drowning too).She confessed it only to shiyi in her deathbed that she wanted ZSC to leave such a dangerous family and live his own life so she pushed shiyi down to make ZSC run away considering how much shiyi was always battling with her life when she is with him.

According to the novel.nope. Except in the few last chapter where she got miscarriage to save zhou wenchuan from ZSC but i won't called it 'bad' she just did it to protect the guy she love.

The other guest room is used as storeroom again🤣

Tbh i watched OaO exactly after ancient love poetry..so i can understand you but try it out ..it has a sequel too and i can say it without hesitation that..personally it's a lot more heartbreaking than ALP😅So be ,mentally and physically prepared

I do respect your preference but tbh reading summary of OaO won't give you the same feels as when you watch the 24 long ep..i would really suggest you to try watching it..
