Honestly speaking, I'm a little nervous about how the intro and the outro clips show Nianfeng with romantic lines…
I am starting this show tonight and like you I want sweet fluffy goodness but them even having the word "first" in the title makes me wonder about the ending and makes me want to brace myself an unhappy ending.

There are so many interesting Cdramas to watch unfortunately the subbing is too slow.
Yes and it seems like the Cdramas that go through Prime are subbed really slowly especially compared to shows that go through Iqiyi or Wetv

How are you able to watch Chinese drama on amazon?
Mine has a few though sadly they seem really slow at getting the newer shows and subtitling them. Love in Time is only on episode 9 last time I looked.

I see people criticizing the plot but I am a sucker for the whole "main dude always loving the girl" trope. It is hitting all the right notes for me as a romance so far and great chemistry from the leads

Article Ashes of Love's Second Lead, Run Yu. Good or Bad?
He is bad but not irredeemable, so if they ever want to do a Run Yu sequel and give him a happily ever after I am here for that. Okay in all honesty I would be there for any new Run Yu material, that dude is easy on the eyes.
