Let me explain what someone up there already did. Akin thought he'd been assaulted. He thought it was his fault.…
as a piece of media that approached such a subject they had a resposibility to deal with it and WERE vague on doing so, no matter how much we want to justify it. akin shouldn't have felt guilty at all, EVEN IF he had been assaulted (even if guilt is a very realistic reaction, i'm not questioning that). the show does not enter that debate. it's not enough.
i rly like this drama and smartboom but they banalized way too much their approach to the whole r4pe thing. jin literaly says "he didin't sleep with you so you did nothing wrong". bitch what do you mean if he HAD actualy been rap3d while unconscious, he'd be wrong??? come on
i dont like that this is a bromance being promoted like bls are promoted. growing up as a queer kid, when there was barely any queer media avaliable, bromances always felt too much like censorship/queerbaiting - like that's all we would get to see and love aside from hetero would always be just wistful wishing. i don't know if i'd throw the whole concept of bromance away, but what gmmtv is doing with skynani feels lowkey disrespectful (i rly like the two actors tho, so this is not shade on them or anything)
i came here to see why this is not a solid 10 (i've watched all the disponible episodes since the start) and y'all are rly weird. it's a sweet sweet story and i enjoy it deeply - even if in the beginning I found it weird that the author seemed to avoid dealing with sign language and all
