Also tv audience are generally in mid age or older, and have preference to some particular genre drama only. IOTNBO did really good in Netflix korea and worldwide. Obviously QOT will have greater charts in Netflix but IOTNBO did that before squid game wave. Agree or not but squid game gave a lot of exposure to kdramas worldwide so kdrama nowadays perform much better than earlier dramas.
I still don’t get the hype of director Kim Hee-won. Other than Vincenzo, the rest of the dramas she’ve directed…
Even if you ignore the storyline from that drama, Little Women was quite different, stylish, and unique from regular K-dramas. Its aesthetics and story representation were so spectacular. Kim Hee-won definitely deserves appreciation for it. Also, the drama "soundtrack" was so aesthetically made.
