Just watch it for the fluff and good-looking leads
I’m currently rewatching Intense Love just for the cute moments and trust me, there are many, many cute moments of sweet interactions between the male lead and the female lead. Both are so cute! The male lead is tall, lean and handsome. The female lead is gorgeous. She is just so pretty to look at.
There are many romantic moments in this fluffy show! ❤️ Just dive in and enjoy the sweet moments. (Ignore those irritating parts that are, apparently, a must in all dramas.)
Ship these two cuties!
This could have been better! I have seen better!
My friend recommended this drama and so, I embarked on it with anticipation and excitement. The beginning of the drama was truly pretty enjoyable! However, as the drama progressed, things started to go downhill. What I liked (at first):
- The start was intriguing and interesting. The part about the magic meteorite was quite refreshing.
- The male lead was so tall and handsome. He carried the show.
- The plot was quite engaging and interesting at first.
What I didn’t like (later on):
- Fair Xing wasn’t that likable in this drama. I have seen several of her works and I’m quite a fan of hers but this drama made me feel that she hasn’t grown as an actress. Rather, her performance has deteriorated. I couldn’t understand her push-pull with the charming male lead. I felt that she should have acted like a mature woman. She behaved like an immature little child.
- The plot changed from interesting to bizarre and fairly confusing.
- There were hateful characters like male lead’s younger brother and others.
Overall, I think that this drama is okay to be missed. Watch Fair Zing’s other dramas which are much better.
Not Sure Float Where... Really Just Floating Without Destination In Sight...
I went into this "just because". I was looking for something to watch and chanced upon this.I watched 13 out of 15 episodes. I had every intention to go back to it but after some time passed and more time passed, I could hardly remember what I had watched and so, I decided to drop it. I did not think that I missed out on anything at all though.
What I Liked A Little Bit:
- Slice of life drama which I enjoyed.
- Natural acting in general.
- The little boy actor, Kit Kit, because he was such a mature little boy. He was so helpful and thoughtful. Such a good kid.
What I Didn't Like:
- The actress, who acted as Faye, was, to me, all kinds of awkward and weird and I really did not like watching her. I found myself frustrated whenever she came on screen and I did not feel invested in her character or her circumstances. She behaved very oddly throughout the show and things were not properly explained. (Perhaps because I did not complete the show and so... I would never know.)
- Unexciting story plot.
On the whole, I do not recommend this drama as it is really quite dry and dull. What something else? :P
The Entire Premise & Plot are about GUI (Xiao) and LU (Chen)
The Entire Premise & Plot are about GUI (Xiao) and LU (Chen) -- Thus, the very apt name of this drama: Gui Lu.I wanted to watch this drama because of Jing Bo Ran. He is very tall, manly, charming and handsome. Drama truly presented him in the best light possible which adds greatly to his devastating charm. In this drama, he cooked so well, he loved deeply, he behaved responsibly, he acted with loyalty as well as with integrity. I would definitely like a Lu Chen for myself.
What I loved a lot about this drama:
- Jing Bo Ran. He stole the show. I want a Lu Chen too. Charming, responsible, loving, courageous, sensible, faithful... WOW!
- Relationship between FL and ML was believable. I liked that they only had eyes for each other and truly loved each other madly and deeply. The fact that they re-united and got together after they broke up when they were young made their 'new' relationship a mature one. I liked it.
- FL's and ML's besties were also GOAT. I liked Duan Rou, Meng Xiao Shan, Qing Feng, Hai Dong and Qin Ming Yu.
- I enjoyed the breath-taking scenery. I liked seeing ML and FL in such beautiful surroundings.
- This was also a 'happily-ever-after' drama. I am a sucker for happy endings.
What could have been better:
- Editing was abrupt. Some scenes were fragmented and jumped from one part to another. At times, I went 'huh?' and wondered if I missed something.
- I was looking forward to Jing Bo Ran's shower scene which I spied on YouTube... but, I did not see it while watching the drama.
What I didn't like:
- ML's father was all kinds of f-ed up. Luckily, ML managed to deal with his father forcefully enough too and was not a wimp and he did not allow his loved ones to be hurt by an unreasonable and atrocious maniac.
Overall, I love this drama because I love Jing Bo Ran. I also love his character, Lu Chen. I highly recommend this drama because JBR! <3
We make the most of what life gives us and forge on... despite it all...till we breathe our last.
Wow! This drama has been mind-blowingly good and after such an awesome production with stellar actresses and actors as well as a realistic and moving plot, it is hard for this viewer to move on. WLGYT is lingering in my mind. What I Loved A Lot:
- The cast was amazing! Their performances were powerful and memorable. Everyone - the leads and the supporting cast - was great. They nailed their roles and gave everything they had and then, more.
- The characters were believable and I felt invested in them. There were numerous meaningful and moving lines which the characters shared which inspired me and touched me. Oh Ae Sun's aunts were great. I liked that different characters also grew up such as Park Yeong Ran who developed a backbone and stood up for herself. I liked the "redemption arc" for Bu Sang Gil who went from total scumbag to trying to be a better father and grandfather to make up for his lack of fatherliness. I liked how Yang Gwan Sik eventually inspired him enough to change for the better.
- The plot was riveting and realistic. I did not expect to laugh and cry and cry some more and laugh wistfully and cry again and smile through my tears and cry again... What a roller coaster ride but it was so worth it!
- The plot was also meaningful and helped me to mature/ grow too. I liked that we got to see the different perspectives which added more meanings and insights to the things which were happening in the plot.
- The cinematography was spectacular. Every scene seemed poetic. Additionally, I felt almost voyeuristic. It was as if I had gone back in time to witness the ordinary and yet, extraordinary lives of Oh Ae Sun and Yang Gwan Sik.
These are the moments/ parts/ lines that linger in my mind (and they maybe paraphrased). I shall be going back to relive these moments/ parts/ lines to "experience them all over again".
~ Living can get very tough and tiring. When you feel like you are too exhausted and cannot live anymore, you keep on going back up to the surface. You kick your way back up to the surface (to breathe again).
~ A mother who has lost her child has more tears than the sea. (My heart breaks too... multiple times... over and over again...)
~ Life goes on if you let it. (Bam! So powerful.)
~ It was exceedingly touching to have Oh Ae Sun's mother-in-law and in-laws (and husband and other characters) not blame her for her third child's death. After all, which mother would want such a thing to happen. It was so telling of how much pain they, too, felt and so, they did not want to add on to Oh Ae Sun's pain because who was feeling more pain than the mother herself/ the parents themselves? Blaming would not have brought him back either. The pain of his death was suffering and punishment enough without having others rub it in further. This part stood out for me greatly. The empathy shown was powerfully moving.
~ The love between Yang Gwan Sik and Oh Ae Sun was tender and yet, powerful. Since the time they were kids, they were each other's soulmates. It was extremely touching and saddening to see how much Yang Gwan Sik just gave and gave of himself until he had nothing more to give. Oh Ae Sun devoted herself to her husband and family and continued to try her very best no matter her age or circumstance.
~ The part whereby the cleaner took the ring. I thought she wanted to live the lie that was spun and take the ring for herself since it was considered stolen. I was stoked when she stood up for Geum Myeong and protected her just like how her parents had helped her in the past. We don't wish bad things on others. Talk about kindness begetting kindness and about paying if forward.
~ The part whereby Oh Ae Sun's "mother" - the woman who married her stepfather after her mother had passed on - gave her rental money. The part whereby the elderly couple watched out for them while they rented the small space. These parts were moving. Talk about humanity.
~ Don't look down on my life. (Insightful and powerful - who are we to think that someone else's live could have been lived better? Let's just strive hard and be accountable for ourselves and our actions and have a clear conscience.)
I recommend this drama to both the young and the old. While I understand that this drama is rated PG13, I think youths who are say 10-13 will benefit from living the lives of these plucky characters vicariously.
This drama deserves 10/10 and it will replay itself in my mind for quite a long time to come. <3 Thank you to cast and crew et al for this magnificent drama! <3
Became Unbearable
I read reviews before I embark on any drama. With this drama, I did the same. The reviews were good and the drama seemed promising. However, I ended up very disappointed. The drama didn’t live up to its expectations and I didn’t know why the other viewers enjoyed it because I really could not bear it anymore. (To each his or her own.)
What I didn’t like:
- the leads weren’t that good-looking and their looks didn’t become better the more I looked at them - rather, the opposite happened
- the leads didn’t have good chemistry IMO
- the female lead really became annoying as the episodes continued - I could not stand looking at her act
- the female lead’s sister was even worse as her acting was stiff and she behaved irrationally IMO
- the storyline was fairly intriguing at the start but it became draggy and went on and on about nothing IMO and it became a tiring watch as nothing was moving
Overall, there’s nothing really great about this drama. Nothing shines. I could not stand watching it anymore after reaching mid-point.
My verdict: Please don’t waste your precious time. There are much better dramas out there! Skip this!
Was good until it became repetitive and thus, dry
I must say that I enjoyed the first ten episodes of this drama and had every intention to complete all the episodes. The first ten episodes were generally fast-paced, exciting and engaging. I was looking forward to a good showing but … after the ten episodes, things started to get repetitive. The male lead did grow and change and develop but… he was just rigidly stubborn and did not have the best of judgment and senses at times IMO.
I’d say that this is a good drama but I could not continue with it because there was just so much green - army show after all. Everything was all ‘camou’ and army green.
Yang Yang as the male lead was cool but it was rather tough watching a ‘stubborn a** head’ trying to grow up. I gave up eventually… maybe you have what it takes to press on till the very end.
Kind of boring (as nothing exciting happens)
My friend recommended that I watch this drama. She said that it was a sweet show and I doubt her not.I started on it but eventually, I decided to drop it. I do not detest this show. I do not detest any of the actors/ actresses. The reason why I decided to throw in the towel for this one was because nothing much was happening at all. Another plausible reason could be that I had just watched "Lost Track of Time" which I liked and enjoyed tremendously and so, I could not appreciate the fairly green acting and unexciting plot. I'd say that "LTOT" was like eating Ma La. It was spicy and yet, strangely addictive. I'd say that "Let's Meet Now" is like plain porridge - kind of comforting and easy to have but really quite bland.
Other notes:
I think that the FL lead is quite cute - she reminds me of Sandy Lam.
I think that the little girl, the second ML's sister, is adorable - she reminds me of young Ariel Lin.
I think that the ML is quite handsome.
However, I'm looking for a more exciting and engaging plot!
Although I can probably sit through this drama and I am pretty sure that it'll be a decent watch, I decided not to waste my time on plain porridge but to seek savoury instead! I like my dramas with more taste and meat! :)

moving northward ... (on hold ... at the moment)
I went from Moonlight Mystique to Northward because of the female lead, Bai Lu. She's a great actress and having seen the positive rating and reviews, I decided to give this drama a go.I am putting this on hold at the moment because:
I think the plot is good and I think the acting is good... but, there are too many hardships and struggles in the drama and in real life, I am also #thestruggleisreal so I don't need #thestruggleisreel too. I am at episode 8 and I am curious to find out what happens to the different characters but I cannot suffer through the heaviness of the drama anymore at this juncture. I have nothing against the acting and plot. In fact, I like the "kampong spirit" shown by the women and the other characters living at the canal. Nonetheless, for my happiness at this juncture, let me put this on hold while I move on to another "lighter" and "happier" drama with fewer tough and heavy struggles.
Fated to Love You after all that Trauma. Love and Understanding Heals.
I dived into this drama upon seeing the many positive reviews. I watched “Hidden Love” before and I didn’t think highly of this actor. I watched the FL in “The Wolf” and felt that she was okay. In I dived into this drama and gosh, I’m glad I did. What I Liked:
- The beginning was super exciting. I like it a lot when we get to dive right into the action instead of having long build-ups. There was so much going on right from the start. I loved their “fatal attraction” to each other. All that fighting and S&M was both funny in a way and weirdly hot.
- The plot was interesting, fast-paced, suspenseful and entertaining. In general, I looked forward to watching what would happen next.
- The cast was great in general. The FL was super easy on the eyes and the ML fully redeemed himself from his role in “Hidden “Love IMO. :) They had good chemistry and appeared to be a beautiful couple who was well-matched in terms of fighting skills and ambition.
- It also turned out that the Emperor of Jinxiu wasn’t such an ass after all. One of the stand-out scenes of this drama was episode 38 where he was being killed by Xia Jingshi but refused to bow down. However, when his love, Feng Xiyang, was being cornered by Xia Jingshi, he went down on his knees immediately to beg for her life. The look of devastation on his countenance when she was stabbed was so moving. My heart ached to see his deeply anguished look upon seeing his lady love and unborn child being killed. Stellar acting there. So moving, so memorable.
What I Didn’t Like So Much:
- Crazy emperor, Feng Ping Cheng, and all the other crazies like Empress Zhuang, Murong father and son and so on. So warped.
- I hated Xia Jingshi with his nonsensical logic and Xiao Weiran for blindly following him. Get a grip, dude. Be ethical and have a mind and backbone of your own like Ning Fei.
- So much bloodshed. :( Too much for my liking.
Overall, this is a very interesting drama. It definitely deserves a high rating for its great cast and plot. Kudos! I like it very much indeed.
And Ning Rises Indeed like yeast... like a hot air balloon... She Rises
I decided to watch this drama because of the ML. Having just watched him in "Are You The One", I decided to get another dose of this charming ML. I think I'm gradually becoming a small fan of his. I really enjoyed this drama tremendously and I want to rave a little about it!What I LOVE about it:
-The plot is exciting, dramatic, suspenseful, engaging, riveting... :o) Everything one wants in an entertaining drama.
-Everything is nicely explained as much as possible and wrapped up in a timely manner. The plot does not drag on and on about nothing. Issues are raised. Issues are resolved and explained to viewers. Lovely, IMO! I am someone who likes to have this 'sense of closure' before moving on to the next issue.
-The cast is generally excellent. Their acting is natural and pleasant to watch. I have to say that I think that the FL has quite a bit of room for improvement as she comes across as simply reciting lines instead of truly being in character. At times, she seems kind of startled by what she is to do or say IMO which comes across as rather awkward. Nonetheless, her winning point is that her character LYN is a feisty and smart lass. I love watching women who can hold their own fort and stand up for themselves despite the injustice and odds. I like her character LYN. She is not the screamy, shouty, air-headed kind of FL. She plots, she schemes, she plans but she has a fairly good heart and does not do things which are too awful. She just wants to find the truth and to have justice returned.
-I like the cast and I think the ML is wonderful in this drama. Again, he nails it! I like Duke Ying in this drama. Some parts are LOL cute e.g. when LYN's awful 'father' shouts, "Who is your father?" when she calls him 'father' and then, LYN's father shows up as Duke Ying. So y'all - that's who her father is, ya? :o) LOL! I like the fairly light-hearted moments which provide relief and humour.
-Diehard lovers in the form of LSY and LJX. LJX, while overly obsessed in a unhealthy way, just really loves LYN. LSY and LYN's love seems gradual and very believable. Lovely to watch them.
-The OST is pleasant.
-The visuals/ costumes are lovely.
-I like that the villains are fairly quickly dealt with.
-Happy ending which is so great. Nonetheless, I found the ending a little rushed.
What I Do Not Like So Much:
-The murderous and hideous villains but well, without them, there won't be much of a plot.
-Qiao Xiao Niang's kids are quite insufferable.
Overall, superb! I wanted to give this excellent drama a perfect 10/10 but FL's acting has room for improvement. In fact, I thought of other better possible actresses who could probably deliver as well as or even better than her.
In essence, this exciting and intriguing drama is lovely to watch. I highly recommend this drama (as well as "Are You The One"). Thumbs-Up!

Savoury at first and then, like chewing plain hard bread.
As a fan of the FL, I decided to watch Legend of An Le when I found out about this show. I have also watched other dramas starring the ML and he is quite handsome and quite decent as an actor. I had pretty high hopes. At first, the drama started off roaringly. There were shenanigans and the FL was feisty as well as funny. As the drama progressed, things started to water down...What I Liked:
- The FL and the ML. I think they could have done a better job because I have seen their other dramas which were great. However, I think it's not their fault but more the fault of the scriptwriters.
- The cast was earnest. I could see their efforts in acting out their roles as well as they could.
- Lin Lang turned out to be endearing. She respected and adored Luo Ming Xi but never crossed the line. She was an honorable and dignified woman from start to end. I was sad when she was killed.
- Luo Ming Xi stole my heart in this drama. I saw him in Chang Ge Xing but he did not leave a very strong impression on me. He was good then as Hao Du, but not great IMO. In this drama, the actor who portrayed Luo Ming Xi was awesome. He stole the show and I watched for him. He loved Di Zi Yuan deeply and sincerely but he would not do anything that would hurt or harm her in the name of his love for her. What a charming and devoted man he was!
What I Didn't Like:
- I really couldn't like Princess An Ning. She didn't have much expression through out the drama. She was just anal and exasperating to watch.
- Leng Bei was a traitor and I hate traitors to the core.
- The drama was as exciting as chewing plain hard bread half-way through. I wanted to drop the drama but my partner wanted to complete it and so, we did. The ending was a happy one (more or less), but it wasn't exciting or amazing in anyway. I felt relieved that it was all over.
I'd still rate this as a 7/10 but my partner thinks that 6.5/10 is more appropriate. However, if you have better options out there, you may want to go for those before embarking on this fairly painful and dry journey.
Sizzlingly Suspenseful
This drama is an excellent watch indeed. Although each episode is quite short at about 12-15 minutes long, each episode packs a punch and ends on a cliffhanger each time. The editing of the drama is excellent. The scenes/ shots are quite breath-taking.What I liked about this drama:
- Excitement from the get-go. I had to move on to the next episode and then, the next! Intriguing plot.
- The ML and FL had sizzling chemistry and looked good together. It was delightful to see their growing attraction to each other.
- There was a suspenseful story to unravel. I liked the use of clothes/ thread to symbolise "hooking" the other party in. The cinematography was nicely done. Quite artistic and beautiful.
- The acting from the cast was brilliant throughout. Actually, the first wife, Wan Yi, was just all bark and no bite. Despite being a minor role, she played her role very well. Thumbs-up.
- I liked that everything wrapped up in the end. The villains were caught and justice was served.
- I liked that the ending was happy enough. :)
What I didn't like so much:
- Some parts of the plot skipped a bit too much and were not very credible or well-linked but... I was willing to close an eye. Overall, this drama was nicely done!
My verdict: Please watch this excellent drama. :) It is Sizzlingly Suspenseful! It is a great drama. Join the exciting ride! :)
She carried the show.
I watched this drama because I like both leads although I have not watched anything from Yang Mi. I have a rather positive impression of her. The synopsis sounded interesting and so, I gave the show a go! I quite enjoyed it but there are other dramas which, to me, are more engaging and more interesting than this one. Nonetheless, this drama is truly, to me, good enough to watch and to chase. I wanted to go from episode to episode as the drama was generally fast-paced enough and generally engaging enough. What I liked:
- I liked Yang Mi in the show. Her character had a lot of sass and was intelligent. She was ambitious and strove hard to get her wants. She looked very charming in most of her clothes. I must say that she's a pretty sight.
- The ML, Xu Kai, was rather "meh" in this drama though. I expected much more from him. He had so much potential from what I saw from his other productions. The chemistry between the leads was okay but not hot and sizzling.
- The acting from most of the cast was stellar. The plot was okay.
- FL had more chemistry with her ex-bf.
What I didn't like:
- I can't stand FL's mentor, Hui Jie. To me, she's a pretentious bitch. So fake in the way that she speaks.
- I can't stand Wu Fei. She spoke haltingly like a retard and I constantly wondered how she suited being a lawyer who is supposed to have the gift of the gab. Everyone else spoke normally but she spoke as though she was somewhat mentally challenged.
- I can't stand Wenyu and Meimei. Their relationship is hard to watch and hard to stomach. They should have split up. It was annoying whenever they appeared on the screen.
- Noble idiocy was somewhat present. I didn't like that as the ML was supposed to be very smart.
Overall, this drama was OKAY and I enjoyed it because in "She and Her Perfect Husband", She carried the show and made it all work. I'd say: Can still watch! Quite good!
A bit of fluff which was nothing much
The reviews for this drama was generally positive and so, I decided to give it a go since it was just 12 episodes.I don’t regret it watching this because it doesn’t give viewers heartache and headache. There aren’t villains in the drama who make one’s blood boil.
The drama can be compared to a simmering pot of soup. It just simmers but it doesn’t come to a rapid boil. There is hardly any exciting climax or revelation. The plot is predictable and the acting is mediocre. Nothing very exciting happens although the love between the two couples in the drama is rather sweet. I prefer the second male lead (Ding Man) and the second female lead (Ge Yao) to the first male lead (who is rather ‘meh’) and the first female lead (who is quite okay as she grows on viewers).
This drama is a fairly nice filler when you are looking for another great one to watch.
Overall, this drama is ‘nothing much’ despite the fluff.
