I was answering to the post from Hunter2022. ;-)
I am not sure, which company will be the production company. But either way, if Youku has bought the rights, I am sure, the quality of the drama will be good, since there recent dramas such as "Justice in the Dark" (not completely uploaded), "Blood of Youth", "Till the End of the Moon", "Immortal Samsara" and so on, have such a high and good quality, that it will be good.
I know, that it is easier to drop web dramas. I just figured out, I try to explain the overall process, because many ppl lament instead of trying to understand :) Not sure, if it will be aired on television.
This drama gonna so suck BIG TIME because:1. Not done by Tencent. Companies that rely on selling airing rights…
1. Tencent is one of the biggest companies in Mainland China and We TV is their less important branch. Their main outcome is in the technology branch - btw they also own WeChat, Tencen QQ, QQ.com, Tencent Music and many other companies. They are the biggest video game vendor worldwide ;-) It is among the largest venture capital, and investment corporations - also worldwirde. So to assume, that Tencent has a different concept is not entrirely true, since they don't need WeTV at all to support themselves. They make much more money in other areas. Same goes for Youku is owned by Alibaba Group - you can not compare such backgrounds with smaller comapnies - because they yearly revenue is insane ;-)
2. Nowadays it is really hard to get an airing licesene for a certain type of dramas. In the late 2021 the NRTA actually changed the laws and therefore every script needs to be reviewed from the NRTA prior to filming. If a script won't be approved, you basically can not start fimling. If we take a closer look, we will see, that many dramas have got shelved, because of the high risk to get the dramas banned during airing - that would mean a huge loss to many companies. So the companies try to be on the safe side and adapt it, in order to make sure, that the script get approved, to get the filiming license as well as the airing license, after the final review by the NRTA.
There are many things, that should be considered before making a comment and saying that the companies are shit - because they are trying their best to work within the layout, they can.
He isn't listed in the Cast...
