Haha I get what you mean 😂 it does feel weird trying to soften up the worst king in history. I don’t think the drama is trying to excuse what he did, more like they’re adding a different layer to his character for the story’s sake. I kind of see it as him being written with both his tyrant side and this more ‘human’ side. As the story goes on, I think it will explain why he is who he is. I'm not trying to get you to like this drama, it's up to you. Just letting you know what I think.
How is a kiss now even remotely romantic, he's called her names, tried to kill her, locked her up, controls what…
I understand your point. The king has done things that aren’t nice to Ji Young, but honestly I’m not surprised. He’s a tyrant. When he sees something unfamiliar, of course he’s going to feel uncomfortable. Who wouldn’t? I just think the idea behind the kiss was that he finally felt at peace with her. Ji Young doesn’t have bad intentions toward anyone, which is the complete opposite of what people in the palace think. Meanwhile, the Kang consort clearly has bad intentions and tries to control everyone.
This drama is worth watching! I thoroughly enjoyed their previous drama, and they make such a great couple. Their chemistry is off the charts. I like the FL’s personality. The ending was satisfying, and the little boy’s acting was impressive. That said, I do think the drama could have expanded on the story a bit more, as there’s so much potential for deeper exploration.
Finally finished watching the drama - so there were a lot of misunderstandings between the 2 main leads' families…
Yes. I agree that the FL should have been more honest with the ML. A children have the right to know who their biological father is even if that father was a bad person. I thought the ML will be upset with the FL for not telling the truth and causing him to misunderstand, but I was surprised that he didn’t react that way. However, I also understand why the FL kept quiet. At first, she’s constantly worried about her children’s biological father, who’s involved in a dangerous lifestyle and living a difficult life (short on money). She may have felt that revealing the truth would only add to the ML’s concerns, especially after her mother-in-law disapproves of her because of her half-brother and dad. From her perspective, she probably thought she was doing the right thing by not sharing this information, even though the ML genuinely wishes the kids were his.
I rewatch it two times. This drama is really mature. I want more dramas like this and Jang Nara and son ho jun acting feels so real. I cried a lot and learned a lot about life after marriage.
I rewatch queen for seven days again. I first watch it when it was first aired. I really love the drama in the process but I can't breathe in the ending. It's so saddd. why?? why not a happy ending. I know it based on a true story but this couple deserves a good ending. But the feelings of the Male and Female lead are very intense. I rewatch and cry over again omg.
I remember watching the finale and crying so ugly to the point of having a headache, so I don't think I can handle…
Yes, you're right but for example, they could write a script where Jiwon gets abducted by criminals and Hyun Su tries to save her and negotiate with the abductors on his own without fully depend on the support of the police. There are many ways for the scenario to continue. In every interview Lee Joon Gi goes, people ask him for the 2nd season of Flower of evil. That's why the production team is open to the possibility. Fans love it.
Many successful TvN dramas with a happy closed ending have been renewed for the second season. Some of them even supported by Netflix, like the very successful police drama "Stranger 2" which airs now. Production teams only care about the fan base and the money they can earn. A logical scrip continuation doesn't bother them that much.
