The drama was simple, kind of boring but enjoyable. Lee Jun Ho did a good job (he has done better elsewhere) as did the rest of the cast with the exception of the FL. Im Yoon Ah's acting and expressions have not developed since 2012 when I watched her in Love Rain. In her case being an idol does not mean you can act.

Badly cast FL in terms of age, voice and acting ability.

Even for drama parents, they are god-awful! Ruining their children to live vicariously through them for what? Good grades, successful uni entrance exams, one-upping the other lunatic parents, doing to their children the same and even worse things their own parents did to them, for society's fake acceptance? The drama was well done and acted, even though I had expected it to be darker at the end. Any society, even one in a drama, that displays such behaviors needs serious overhauling.

Does anyone know the song at the end of Ep. 2?

I really like this drama but why do the makeup artists of this series make the face of the FL so shiny in every episode? It is like she is constantly sweating buckets - it is unbecoming.

Perhaps, but I do not think she will. She is a product of the school that believes good looks equal acting ability - but we can hope.

But it never actually happens. I have watched 4 series with this particular FL and she destroyed them all. I am sure the same goes for the MLs too.

Why do directors like to pair ML who can act with FL that cannot?

No, I do not know the actress or whether other people are hating her. I just tell it as it is. She cannot act. Looks or being popular do not make up for acting abilities, especially when the two ML can act. May be she could act in some light romcom.

People no longer distinguish between what is real and what is fiction. How very sad! Why did these fans get offended when out there exist reams of fanfiction about their idols suffering much worse?
The drama is excellent and one of a kind!

Episode 6 was a beautiful episode with sublime cinematogaphy! The night settings one after another are like luminous still life paintings glowing in the darkness of the human drama unfolding within the rigid walls of the palace. The suffering , the impossible choices the leads are asked to make just to survive, the human emotions that are always victims to political expediency and greed for power are all portrayed powerfully by the great actors.

Not for the faint of heart! A predictable historical drama plot but done so very well! The cinematography is exquisite, each scene like a silk screen painting, full of detail, color and beauty. The dark twists of the plot match the darkness of the night settings, in which the evil plans of various major and minor power crazed characters constantly hatch. The acting of the three leads as well as the rest of the cast is superb. It makes this intricate sageuk drama worth watching.
