you have some thing against the actress or what why is everyone hating on the female lead for no reason at this…
No, I do not know the actress or whether other people are hating her. I just tell it as it is. She cannot act. Looks or being popular do not make up for acting abilities, especially when the two ML can act. May be she could act in some light romcom.
I am wondering if they have used any other person name in place of those names, should not be that person exist…
People no longer distinguish between what is real and what is fiction. How very sad! Why did these fans get offended when out there exist reams of fanfiction about their idols suffering much worse? The drama is excellent and one of a kind!
Episode 6 was a beautiful episode with sublime cinematogaphy! The night settings one after another are like luminous still life paintings glowing in the darkness of the human drama unfolding within the rigid walls of the palace. The suffering , the impossible choices the leads are asked to make just to survive, the human emotions that are always victims to political expediency and greed for power are all portrayed powerfully by the great actors.
Not for the faint of heart! A predictable historical drama plot but done so very well! The cinematography is exquisite, each scene like a silk screen painting, full of detail, color and beauty. The dark twists of the plot match the darkness of the night settings, in which the evil plans of various major and minor power crazed characters constantly hatch. The acting of the three leads as well as the rest of the cast is superb. It makes this intricate sageuk drama worth watching.
Definitely slow burn but magnificently done. The dysfunctional characters, the suffocating family atmosphere, the stifling heat of the summer, the grueling farm work under the scorching sun, the long train and bus journeys to and from Sanpo, the lush summer nature setting callously indifferent to human suffering, the unfulfilled hope that Seoul represents, the painful relationships between the characters, all make this an exceptional study in the human condition. The very many eating scenes in the Sanpo and Seoul settings where the characters are shown to mechanically chew their food with blank faces on are masterpieces of the inability or unwillingness of the characters to communicate with each other and their environment. Looking forward to how all this is going to unravel.
Unfortunately for Doh Kyungsoo, a rare idol that can truly act, this casting combo is not a good one. Lee Se Hee is far from being an accomplished actress. Her last series 'Young Lady and a Gentleman" is proof of that. Good visuals and a collection of forced facial expressions do not an actress make. Hope she declines the offer.
The drama is excellent and one of a kind!
