Have to agree with other commenters, the cuts made me feel the plot gaps. This would have been a bit better as a series so I can be more invested in the ML and FL relationship. By the time they met again, I felt that the SML knew the FL better.

I kinda agree, FL’s range is a bit limited. Although I love the ML here. He really resonates with me. I also watched him in When We Were Young and he was also good there (the entire main cast was actually good).
For a first timer, the male lead did really well here, specially when he was still blind. Wan Peng is a more veteran actor but you can see that Evan was more than able to keep up.

I agree, it really gives that Reply vibe. The cast was awesome. I put off watching this since I thought it would be dragging but I was happy to be wrong 😊
My fave scenes are actually between Li Pa and HZQ. The father/son love was so raw. Also, SWL got really good here. His character was very complex but he still made it relatable.
The cast was spectacular. I like how SWL showed more depth in this series and SZ really killed it in this drama. His scenes with Li Pa almost always gets me teary eyed
