Calling Type's concern as Internal homophobia is a bit wrong in my opinion. Tharn and Type were grown up in very different environments. Tharn's family was always so accepting and supporting but Type's family was not. Also, Type had really bad experiences with people around him (his neighbours, relatives, friends). He knows how easy it is to be judged by people over small things and getting married in a country where same sex marrige is still not legal, is definitely a big deal!
Talking about the character development, the old Type would have just refused to get married without telling his reasons behind refusing but the Type we saw did tell what was going in his mind and it wasn't irrelevant. His reasons for refusing were totally out of concern for Tharn and his family which is very opposite of Type we've seen in 1st season. But again, this is my opinion. No offense to anyone. :)

Umm I don't know if you've read it anywhere or not but Hin was not in a relationship with Tul (not officially). Hin was a servant of the Medthanan family but he was with Tul since they were 4-5 years old so they were very close (more than Master-Servant relationship).
Also, Tul had gone through so much since he was 5-6 year old kid. He was physically, mentally abused by his grandmother who hated him because she never liked Tul's mother. When Tul was only 7, he was kidnapped for money and when the kidnappers asked for money, his grandmother refused to give money and just told them to kill Tul if they want to. Tul was tortured for many days until Hin's mother(the maid we always see with Tul) informed his father. The kidnappers repeatedly beat Tul and keep telling him that he's a worthless child. After that incident, Tul was broken beyond repair. His grandmother never accepted him as her grandson. When she died, she left a letter telling how much she despised Tul till the last second of her life and she gave all the inheritance to Tin. So even after his grandmother died, Tul was never able to come out of his tragic past. His mother left him, his grandmother despised him and his stepmother only used him so he absolutely hated female gender. His only support system was Hin who was devoted to him. Hin's parents were hired by Tul's father so Hin always thought he's indebted to Tul so he devoted himself to Tul. He promised Tul to be with him till his last breath. Hin would let Tul do anything with him to ease his pain and Tul used to take out his frustration, hatred on Hin (by using violence and forcing him on Hin). But Hin was so devoted to Tul that he endured all the pain so that his master will feel better. Hin always thought that he was born for Tul. Hin was aware of his feelings for Tul but never said anything as he was just a servant. Their relationship was starting to develop but then Wadee (Tul's wife) came into the picture and Tul had to approach her because he wanted to be the perfect son for the family by getting married to a well known family's daughter. Then Wadee got pregnant and Hin realised he needed to step out from Tul's life for him to be happy with his family. Even when girls used to approach him in the university, he used to ignore them because he was owned by Tul. He was devoted to Tul in every way, that's why he was single even after so many years.
Tul really loved Tin but his hatred for his grandmother didn't let him live peacefully. He did all the bad things to make sure everyone will think that Tin (who was the real son of the family according to the grandmother) was a spoilt kid.
Sorry for the longgggg reply. Just wanted to clear some things as the series is not doing good job at explaining Tul's past. This doesn't justify Tul's wrongdoings but at least we know what he had gone through. T-T

Ohh I haven't read the 2nd novel yet so I don't know their roles. Maybe they'll just skip those parts or let some other character do that part.
