Explosive Chemistry & Pure Sweetness
I read the plot and got really interested in this series. It’s not anything brand new or groundbreaking, but it’s exactly the kind of story I love when I just want happiness, sweetness, and warmth. Plus, I’ve always liked Ding Yuxi and Zhang Yuxi, so I jumped right in.
The story from start to finish doesn’t offer anything particularly new — it just flows along nicely. No annoying mother-in-law/father-in-law problems, no heavy melodrama. It’s a light rom-com that feels comfortable and easy to watch. But it’s so sweet and romantic! The female lead, Jinbei, is bold and playful. She’s especially adorable when she’s with the male lead. The male lead, Shiyun, is cool on the outside but kind-hearted. He cares deeply for her and loves her a lot, and he shows it really well. Both of them acted excellently. Zhang Yuxi was super cute, especially in the scenes where she’s chasing after him — her goofy moments were hilarious. Ding Yuxi was very convincing as someone who loves, protects, and takes care of her, and he becomes really soft and adorable whenever he’s with her. Their chemistry is the biggest selling point of the whole show. The chemistry is explosive — so sweet and adorable. Watching them made me smile the entire time. There are lots of hugs and kisses, and they’re intense. I especially loved the mud kiss scene. Their relationship develops very naturally, and they start dating earlier than in most Chinese dramas. The supporting couples were just okay for me. A few characters were a bit annoying like the male lead’s younger sister and the female lead’s junior who’s an actress, but it didn’t bother me at all. 24 episodes isn’t too long. The romantic scenes are beautiful, the houses and sets look lovely, and the soundtrack is sweet.
Overall, if you like super-sweet rom-coms with amazing chemistry, lots of kisses, something light and easy that makes you smile the whole way through without heavy drama, this is for you. The relationship between the leads is by far the strongest point — it’s just pure sweetness that leaves you feeling good. This is the kind of series that’s perfect for rewatching, and it will definitely be on my top modern Chinese romance list. Highly recommended!
