I agree that she doesn’t deserve all the hate, and I do think that she is a good actress but this role was not for her. The role of an actor/actress is to bring to life a character and make it believable to the viewers. So the people that read the novel felt cheated, the protagonist was not portrayed and brought to life the way it should have and you can’t blame them for being unhappy about it and feeling disappointed.
That being said, there are 2 parts to this, the whole production team failed the viewers, it’s like asking a Muslim chef to cook for a group of people that demanded pork as one of the proteins. And the way they were cutting those kissing scenes was just laughable to me. It was terrible.
The other part is as an actress, you should study your character, know it, if it’s base on a novel read about it. And if you feel that the role is not for you. Don’t accept it, because who ever forces you to take on a role you are not comfortable with is setting you up for failure as an actress. But like someone mentioned maybe her agency made her accept the role, who knows.

Yichen and JX were in love but not on the same page. You don’t last 4 years and plan a future without loving the person. And the issue is not WQZ ending up with Yichen, it’s the process and her intentions from the beginning. If she wasn’t eyeing Yichen the whole time he was with JX and happened to develop these feelings after a couple of years and got together with him, it will be acceptable. But pinning for one your best friend’s man and pouncing him after the second they broke up, means you are a snake. You were a fake friend the whole time.

That part. My mom always warned me to not surround myself with too many girlfriends. Beware and know who you can and cannot trust. The ones that appears to be the most innocent are the ones to watch out for.
I am on episode 21 and for the most part, I am loving and enjoying this drama. But I saw a reviewer’s comment about QZ(fake friend) and Yicheng relationship being acceptable because JX have HT. In no way that is acceptable. And the fact that she liked him while they were together for 4 years and pounced after him the second they broke up paints her character as a snake. And the way the writers try to rationalize it because JX have pursuers, so it’s okay!!!!!!!! Had they shown that they developed feelings for each other a year or 2 after the breakup would have seems more reasonable. But to swoop right in the second your close friend breaks up with her boyfriend screams HO big time. And I know a lot of people are going to say that they are more suitable for each other, but that doesn’t excuse the process or make it right. And what ever happened to the Girl Code!

I understand your pain! When I looked and it says next episode in 6 days, I ask myself why, why did I start???? I know better but my finger was quicker than my brain. Now I have to summon the will power in me not to watch, find some other distracting dramas to watch until this one is about to end. I told myself many times not to start new dramas that I know I will get hooked on until I can binge all episodes, but no, I had to start this one, why don't I never listen to my own darn self!!!

Again, you missed the point, you said that he lacks charisma to be in a main lead role and I pointed out that this one role was not his only one. My issue is you judged his whole abilty to be a main lead based on this one role that was written for him and this one drama! He have had other ML in other dramas, all you have to do is click on the actor's name for his filmography. His first role in a TV Drama was actually very good.

This is killing me, the ML is smart and always ahead of all political schemes, when the 1st scandal initiated by the 2nd FL happened, he didn’t persist on the investigation because they couldn’t find the guy. Really, you can find about just anybody or big time criminals, and secret organizations info but you can’t find one simple nobody.
