For sure, some nuances are mistranslated and misunderstood to non-korean speakers which is natural. English is very straightforward so its relatively easier to understand the context.

I loved it though. Supernatural dramas aren't everyone's taste specifically this one because they have used so many elements and less focus on the romance - unlike Goblin and Hotel Del Luna hence, some criticism from some since they expect a love story from Kdramas.

Also, Rang needs to be punished - even in supernatural law so I feel like he will die at the end.

That's definitely not the intention. It's more formal but in English translation it just sounds weird. Clearly, through the drama they have not tried to erase her identity. If you understood Korean so many things make more sense lol it's fine though. we cant have everything

Not the typical romance Kdrama. There are so many aspects that I LOVE. I am SO SO happy for this Kdrama because this is exactly what I expected. Thank you for less romance and more creepiness.

Also, can we all appreciate Shin Joo? The golden hearted boy deserves much more! He is one of the nicest kdrama characters ever written.

Lee Rang is so toxic in nature but so hot. I'm a mess.

Much better than Hotel Del Luna and Goblin in my opinion. They just had better budgets. I loved both of them but here the stories are so creepy and interesting.

I was irritated too (tad bit jealous also considering how these girls get such nice guys and swing by life by not even doing the bare minimum. But this is Kdrama land!

I loved all of it. Hehe. Didn't pay attention to details because I was probably too busy crying, laughing or being excited. Also they had the best chemistry! KSH is my favorite too! They call IOTNBO another Hallyu wave because everyone was talking about it when it released and trended everywhere.

I hope Do Do Sol catches some attention. My booiii Lee Jae Wook deserves it.

It's okay to not be okay is one of my favorite Kdramas of all time so I'll obviously always choose that lol but Do Do Sol is a different genre and it's really good!

And Netflix is a much better platform cause you earn more money to the extent of the entire production costs. So if you can make it in netflix, I think that should be the threshold to judge drama success. I'm saying this as a Korean.

Not really. There are lots of aspects to decide. No one really watches Kdramas on tv anymore in Korea, we normally watch it online. Gooddata reviews are taken for this. And Crash landing was not as successful in netflix or internationally as IOTNBO. And personally don't see the hype.

Record of Youth was such a disappointed. I had just finished IOTNBO and after watching that it became more of a disappointment to watch ROY

Same here. Considering how popular Nam Joo Hyuk is, I'm surprised the SML has so many people fighting for him. It's because the writer wrote the SML well. Love triangles are irritating as hell.

IOTNBO did really well in Korea too! It topped the online ratings for three months in Korea and made a lot of money for Studio Dragon so it's been called the Hallyu stars. I'm not currently there but all my cousin's there were obsessing over it.
I hope this drama gets more hype because it deserves it, it's really sweet. People need to stop giving in to love triange Kdramas it's really irritating and overrated
