I don't understand why people think there is GL in this, have you all never had a really close female friendships?…
I heard that the writer originally intended for this to be a GL. Since gay content is banned on Chinese TV, media about intimate same-sex relationships similar to this one are sometimes written to imply that there could be more to their relationship. For me, it's harder to make that jump because I do believe in platonic soulmates, and I feel that there should be representation for friendships that are just as important as romantic relationships.
