People are commenting on the voices, but I don’t think their voices are dubbed. I’ve seen the FL before and she had the same voice. Also, I looked on Bai du and there are no voice actor listings.

I do not understand why there are even contracts like this. Fake kisses feel real too when acting them out and…
I can understand maybe the intimate scenes are embarrassing, but it's strange where the kisses are just pecks. Also there is a kissing scene in the previews where Yu Menglong kisses her forehead and cheeks and even they look pretend/or like statue kisses. They are definitely not too embarrassing to film. Yu Menglong is my male version of Zheng Shuang now.

It looks like the strong old man that healed qinghong will cure ling fan in the next episode
I couldn't see that from the preview? But then again, I only saw the previews on YouTube, and the video quality is so weird. I don't know if it's some copyright software, but the picture zooms in, and then goes normal the next minute, and then zooms in, and then is normal. So distracting!

I'm getting a baaaad feeling that the ending is going to be sad.

I'm cheating a bit and watching sweet moments of episode 28 because it's too cute! I've been waiting for so long for them to get together!

But... does Yu Menglong have it written into his contracts that he can only do the closed lip statue kisses??? Because I've seen the female lead and she does kissing scenes (not great, but not pecks) and I've seen Yu Menglong in The Legend of White Snake and he only had pretend kisses in that too!!! I'm just curious, I am the first to admit I whinge a bit too much about cdrama kissing, haha, but I mean, I'm not expecting snogging because it's a costume drama, but can't their kisses be realistic?? They don't even pucker their lips! They just press them against the other person.

I'm an optimist though! There are still 8 episodes!

has anyone noticed the trend where it's increasingly common for cdramas to get taiwanese (or other non-mainland)…
Equally a large number of non-mainland actors are often cast as the leads in Chinese dramas - Legend of Fuyao (Ethan Ruan), Count your lucky stars (Jerry Yan), The Eternal Love (Mark Chao) and Use for my talent (Jasper Liu). And a lot of Hong Kong stars have successfully transitioned to Chinese television or cinema.

I'm just hoping it doesn't end like with the other drama (forgot the name of it because it was that horrid) that…
Urgh! I had thought of watching that too, but I'm so glad I gave that a miss now.

the only thing i dont like is that it takes them so long to get together
I'm at episode 11, and I really feel like LF doesn't get enough screen time. Also, I don't like how far the romance between QH and SML goes - the bed scene with the tension is something I only want to see with QH and the ML.

Episode 28 preview is disappointing. She looks so uncomfortable being in a romantic situation with him. I hate it when female actresses look like they don't enjoy physical contact, it makes me squirm. I think she's trying to look a bit anxious and shy and maybe that's what the feet shot is trying to express? But honestly, to me it just looks like she's freaking out. Like when someone you've friend zoned is hitting on you. Hardly the love story I was expecting :(

Fair Xing's acting is also miserable because she gets typecast as those airhead girls. Not far in the story yet,…
I can sort of see what you're saying, but I think it's the Director's fault instead of the actress. I've seen her in Put your head on my shoulder, and she has a very sweet, natural smile there. Here she does just have a fake smile all the time and it makes her look like a moron.

I saw an interview with the Director, and he was very excited about his young cast. He mentions that QH is lively/bubbly. I think he wants her to come across as young, naive, mischievous and bubbly... but unfortunately does it by making the FL smile like an idiot all the time.

Beyond the inane grin, I do like her though, I find her interactions with the ML quite sweet actually.

As much as I agree Alan Yu acting may seem a bit wooden, maybe he chooses parts that play to his strengths? I've seen him in his interviews and he's softly spoken and gentle, with restrained and refined gestures. He very much suits being genteel in historical wuxia. I've also never had a problem believing his chemistry with the FL, so I don't think he's a bad actor, just a bit samey - gestures, emotions all the same.

My new theory for the angst which is coming, which I much prefer: JJ's mother doesn't accept YS with JJ, so she asks YS to break up with JJ. YS breaks up with JJ and leaves MH with Qiao Song to another company. JJ stays on and becomes successful, and closer friends with DL, but then Linda exposes DL and she realises the investment banking world is hollow and the only good person there was YS. No misunderstanding really, and no thinking YS is evil, just lots of missing the other. I can deal with that. I'll get so frustrated if JJ thinks YS has any role in her dad's death because she should know YS by now.
