I think this comes from the way they practically grew up together. It is hard to come out from that. It is kinda like me and my younger sister. Both of us are mature usually but when we meet we are the most immature kids with each other.

I am loving watching this but there are times it feels like things are being glazed over. like the way all it took for him to take off his mask and go out in the world was her pep talk. I am curious what made you feel this way? Are there any specific scenes?

yes yes yes. That is exactly what it is. I kept cringing at all that acting and got weirded out but couldn't pin point exactly why. it allll makes sense. It really does give 15 yo wattpad smut 😭😭

I feel so empty after watching this 😭. I literally cannot figure it out but something about Utsukushii Kare pulls me in. everything about Utsukushii Kare screams master piece. I used to find it weird when s1 was airing because of the whole one worships the other concept but I slowly got obsessed after hearing the audio dramas and reading whatever of the novel was translated. There is so so so much more to this than how it is disguised as a star and his creepy stalker". The novel plot, the audio drama, the drama, the dynamic between the characters, the actors, the OSTs, the cinematography, the many layers of the story, all are just done to pure perfection. Although I loved the audio drama a lot more than this movie, it is still a very good watch. Gonna wait for better subs to rewatch.

Usually I am not nitpicky about scenes and plot as long as they dont look awkward. I understand Korean and fully understand Korean shows without subtitles. The squishy and "American style" scene could've come out great with a hint of sexual tension if they were acted well. But the way CJ says these dialogues and acts it out is where I have a problem. like I guess he wanted to be "flirty" but he makes it look like a prostitute luring in old men if that makes sense.

And the getting excited and all that is normal. As I mentioned we have seen it in many other shows and some that actually delivered those kinda scenes really well. Again my problem was never the scenes or the plot even though they could've been written better. I just cant stand the way CJ comes off like a creep and not like an mc.

Sexualized banter is actually fun to watch if it is done right. We've also seen these in other shows. But here all I could do is cringe and feel the second hand embarrassment. Also the fact that LJ barely recognized him shows that they have not been in touch forever. And to be so sexually into a person you only saw as a kid is just off regardless of if they had a crush on eo or not. They could've atleast added some normal scenes before it to make the whole relationship development flow better.

I agree with the rest of your comment. I just wish they developed this relationship better because the overall outline of the plot seems fun. Almost like dating sim where they liked eo when they were young and meet again in the same office. Our dating sim did an amazing job developing this kind of relationship while also have one character flirt and the other getting flustered scenes. But J&J unfortunately lacks in Bothe relationship development and the acting itself.

And the alcohol part I genuinely don't mind because as a college student myself, I have seen a lot of relationships work only because alcohol was involved. I found that the most natural among everything about this show. Although we got no context of how CJ was just able to show up at LJs house when they met like 2 days ago lol. Like I know it was supposed to be CJ missing LJ after all those years of not seeing him so he drunk went there. But I wish they made us actually feel that way. then the sexual advances, he just goes for it and he didn't even act well so it came out as super creepy thank give me butterflies.

And now with the way ep 4 ended we know there is the overdone jealousy plot coming. like please give me a break. I love overdone tropes when they are done well but we still got no context of how much these two even like each other and that whole possessive ml is very cringe without proper context

Honestly I have no problem with the whole fiancé thing as a plot. I love messed up plots. my only concern is just how cringe some of the scenes are and the way CJ acts.

Before you read this: 1. I know you around in the comments. we talked before but I changed my name. We have similar tastes and always agreed with eo on a lot of shows hahaha. 2. I am not the kind of person that wants shows to be realistic, I am actually the opposite, I enjoy exaggerations and unrealistic elements in my dramas. But I prefer when they connect well and flow properly.

I was in fact talking about CJ "seducing" LJ. To start off, the end of ep 1, the way he just goes across the table and leans into LJ when LJ doesn't even recognize him felt out of place. It didnt bother me much in the start cuz its just a drama and exaggeration is drama is all the fun. And then the coffee spill scene in ep2 and the rest of the episode. I am assuming they wanted to have a mutual sexual tension scene but it did not come out well unfortunately. It again felt off the way he kept saying "take it off" in a weird way and it got even weirder when LJ was actually going to lol. What adult in any situation would just strip in middle of the office? And the whole squishy and American style scene was so weird af lol. I dont know what the point of it was. The way CJ says some of the dialogues and looks seducingly talking about soft vs squishy had me cringing lol. Like I love the weirdest shit when it is done well but this was not done well at all. And all the camera angles make things extra awkward. And then the whole drunk scene without any context. And then the whole "help me with this" after waking up. Like Ive seen other dramas with similar stuff and didnt mind at all. I just dont think they did it well in this one. The way CJ looks or says his dialogues like he tryna seduce the guy all the time is so awkward. It would've worked if they showed some good sexual tension between them but it's just not there. This drama has great potential. They def did not execute well,

Finance or not. I am more concerned about how cringe the "seducing" is. CJ could really do better. And the second hand embarrassment I have because of the way it is being received by LJ. They met after years and he is all over him. I would think he is a creep lol. people defending it saying CJ is hot.... I dont find him attractive at all lol. I used to but with all that weird seducing he does reduced his attractiveness in my books lol. And LJ's character is blander than a chicken breast. Also where is the plot??

Honestly same. I really wanted to like the show because of how new and unique the plot and characters are. I barely liked s1 cuz they just won't progress. but I was very excited to watch s2 because I was expecting a lot of growth and just different kind of struggles between them but its the same from s1. Also this is when second couple comes into play to compensate for the main couple but wow second couple is literally the same as the main cp lmao

There are some really good k-dramas out there. I would say dont watch Jun&Jun if you already dont like k-dramas. I dont want this to ruin k-dramas completely for you hahhhaaha.

We do have enough romcoms with no murder mysteries. Leave some for mystery and thriller with romance lovers. I love it when there is something darker to the romance how many every times it has been done

So what do y'all think? Do you want her powers to work on him or not? I would usually like it if the powers don't work to create a sense of mystery but for this drama I want her lie detector powers to work on him like they do on others. I think it would be a t cute trope when she finds someone who only says the truth or a fun trope where she can keep catching him in some of his lies.

No, you are right! I was confused about the same thing but I went back to the previous rings. It is a high ring for a lie and a low one for truth. I thought it was a lie too which would be very interesting because I wanted her powers to work on him but I went and replayed a couple times and decided based on the difference in rings that he in fact said the truth. I guess itll be more clear next week

I mean it has only been 4 episodes. I have seen many dramas that drag the mystery till the last two episodes. I like that there are so many things going on, it was a great way to start. I like the way they dropped so many things here and there already that will unfold properly later. itll be fun to watch them bring everything together slowly over the weeks. With the way todays episode ended, I am expecting some major development next week.

When I first saw Do Ha wear a mask in ep 1 I thought he was gonna be a pretentious dark, heartless and cold ML so I was already rolling my eyes cuz with all the years of watching dramas, I am very tired of these "cold" MLs but he turned out to be wholesome and adorable 😭😭😭. Love it
